Kevina

Behind the elaborate mask I wear
You are a tempting sample of wine
Beauty to behold, your face serious
With a dazzling smile, girlish delight,
With the most enchanting looks
that would melt the coldest of hearts
You are exquisite, warm, beguilingly innocent
The list is endless...
When I see you now,my heart flitters
and now more than ever,
I crave for your glowing angelic presence
Happy Birthday!!

Don'T

Sometimes I walk at night alone
With this knowledge and ability to take space
and I remember the pain cutting me
Like a thousand stabbing knives
and I tried hard not to cry
I could hear the paramedic say
"This woman is going to die"
"This boy is loosing his mind"
Now I would be insane?
I mumbled to myself
I burned and freeze like ice
"That is just a life test"later they said
Don't tell me it's just a test
Don't tell me not to cry
Don't tell me you understand
I held my life so close
and my memory is my keepsake
With which we'll never part
Because I had a rendezvous with death
but God disputed it.

Papa's Glory

His feisty manner,top notch brain
How I wish it was not the truth
Will always in our thoughts remain
The lord of good!
I know you tried
To cling to life; your selfless actions
among family gone before, the clouds are moving
But I pay respect not in grief
A feeling of ambivalence
But moment of clarity hits me,
Never will I see him again
Finality,finality dawns,it's a little too quiet now
Take your place in glory, you will be reminisced.

My Wish

I can't see through my eyes
I can't hear what my heart is trying to say
I have tried to be there, time and time again
But it seems so far away
In my dreams,
Love used to have big bright colours
With dancing beams
but turned into nightmares
My young heart has been through so much
Crushed and thrown away
Yet I live today
I hear the waves of reject slapping against the shore
But I want me happy again
I want the sun to come out again like it did
I want to be happy again,
I want to be blinded by the beautiful light
Like a flower in paradise.

Speak Fo Us

So you thought life is easy
For what comes just goes
Seeking unknown,it's all hailstones
Oh Yee they fail again
But I'm going to tell you anyway
Even if you cannot hear me
Yes I'm sad you are gone
But I should spit on your grave I say
Drinking whiskey out of plastic mugs
and wishing the world were better
You couldn't see a way out?
And I heard your mind in the wind today
Should I blame them for your demise?
Should I blame yourself for your failure?
Ooh should I care why you left?
You hate love, you love life
Once you asked someone to hide the bottle, once you didn't
Boom!you failed from the merciless rope
And it squized you so hard
Kwi kwi they cried for you
But ways to die, most of them you can do while living
Once you heard that shame,is the closest thing to death
But neither do I blame you for their tears,
I blame the coperate war profiteers
House nor senate,house,judge
Nor agency.speak for us

The Path I Choose

Demand a love so big
Oh Yee! don't succumb to lips
It makes you choke
now don't get jealous of me

Because I'm successful and you are not
Don't envy my time
Patience is a virtue
Your time will come

For slowly slowly we blossom
No more will we have to ask...
What do we do?

How long will you play with fire
Untill your heart has no flesh left to burn
The only thing that bothers me is your jelousy
Ooh no! forgive my luck

For this little life
We walk paths our own way
Hopping it will make them feel better
Instead it makes them feel worse

The Statesmen

Listen to the music of centuries
Remembering looking toward peace
"We must disentral ourselves"
The congressmen
Big black tires
Big black men,black suits
Siphoning your GRIT
The corporate war profiteers
Who are they as bats at night
Chameleons in all natures
Camouflaged at appropriate times
Demagogues!the cause of poverty
Be angry at the sun
The public men,publish falsehood
You are no Catullus you know;
To lampoon these crude sketches of ceasar
Struggle for power;and women for fame
I stand alone dazed words giving way
Blood gurgling down into the mud and sand
This nation,A village of thorns and brambles
The old earth is withered and undone
While decades pass
Pleasured in the dead's heritage
Riots and robs,
some busking in the glory of others
Others salvation
Others the lords of charity,
Splashing dirty millions in altars and Holly stages
You are begot and spawned in shame
Little resources huge demands
Oh wanjiku! How long shall the donkey tire for your load to be delivered?

These Times

Someone meditated, someone prayed.
Count your blessings,share your blessings
In this uncertain times,
Mother's Day looked different this year
Weekends look boring this times
Our carefully crafted illusion
Of predictable security
An invisible enemy
Illuminated hidden lines
Si movement comes most often without motion
When this is over
We may never again take for granted
A handshake with a stranger
Full stores
Crowded night outs
The stadium roaring
So love at this times

56 Years of Exile

It looks so sweet,a pity it wasn't sung
Is there hope for what future may hold?
For faces I had thought we're gay
I saw were lined with care
Life unbelievably was clear

And vividly was clear
My lord, where shall I place my bribe?
Then society cheats itself
Billions lost publicly
Big brains lynched

Commoners suffer the wrath of the mighty
Failure justified
What kind of times are these?
The drought and the hunger
Shocking levels of unemployment

Flooded homes, flooded homes for 56 years?
Turbulence in quarantine centres
Others opting for death
The primeval beast devouring us
Turning dreams into nightmares

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the horror of the years
It matters not how straight the gate
In the fell clutch of circumstances
My head is bloody but unbowed

The night has been long
The morning I look through your anguish
Clap hands,let's leave the preening
And stop impostering our own history

They cursed our intrusion of peace and the sun's
Intrusion of his shade
Colonial judges
Cobras uneasily lying side by side
Left to roam and bite again

No narrow fancy
Full fifty six years of exile
It has never been so profound
Solitude have I to endure?
And that's the way it should be!

Hollow Cry

Justice is fist raised
Justice is a statue
Justice is a hollow cry
Justice is a noose
While the poor die and forgotten
The rich are celebrated and remembered
The society claims it has overcome racism
Inside my head,just mumble
Hopelessness
