THE PRISMATIC SELF

In the hall of mirrors, I lose my face
A maze of reflections, each one a different shade
Of truth and lies, of light and darkest space
I search for the real me, but it's hard to stay

The judges' voices whisper, "Not enough"
A litany of doubt, a choir of rough
Hands that shape and mold, yet can't define
The contours of my soul, the lines that make me mine

I write to be seen, to be heard, to be known
Yet in the arena of words, I'm overthrown
By fears and doubts that masquerade as facts
And the masks I wear, a dizzying array of acts

But still I pen these words, a self-portrait in shards
A synesthesia of pain, a colorless hum of doubts
That echoes through my mind, a haunting melody
A reminder of the self-fracture that I can't define

And when the verdict comes, will I be brave?
Will I don the cloak of validation, or the shroud of shame?
The answer lies within, in the prismatic self
A kaleidoscope of contradictions, a messy, beautiful wealth

PEERS

In halls of learning, we gather round,
Peers united, common ground is found.
Shared laughter echoes, memories made,
Together we grow, our bonds are displayed.

With every step, we learn and share,
Supporting each other, without a care.
In times of need, they lend a hand,
A friendly nudge, to help us stand.

Through trials and tribulations, we face,
Peers by our side, a steady pace.
Their smiles and cheers, a guiding light,
Illuminate our path, through darkest night.

In peer groups, we find our place,
A sense of belonging, a warm, safe space.
Where we can be ourselves, wild and free,
And grow into the best version of me.

UNINTENDED INUENDO

Unintended Innuendo
as we passed her she did wilt
which caused in us sense of guilt
since our stance perhaps did cause
to put her heart’s joy on pause

though we’re gentle, not hostile
we diminished her soul’s smile
since our aura as she viewed
scent of love did not exude

In fleeting glances, we convey
a universe of unintended sway
our presence, a subtle breeze
that rustles petals, or freezes trees

the whispers of our inner state
echoes that others hesitate
to acknowledge, or gently sway
toward empathy's quiet way

Perhaps in softening our gaze
we might infuse warmth in dwindling days
a gentle calibration of the heart
to resonate with love's subtle start

and as we walk, or stand, or stare
may our essence bloom, beyond compare
nurturing life, in every stride
with love's perfume, that does abide

In awareness, we find the key
to uplift, or unintentionally

freeze the beauty that unfolds
around us, as our souls behold
the ripples of our being's tone
shape the world, we've yet to known

This poem explores the idea of unintended innuendo and the impact of our presence on others. It contemplates the subtle ways in which our energy and aura can affect those around us and proposes a gentle correction of consciousness to cultivate more love and empathy.

Purple dreams in other realms

Once upon a magical evening an enchanted fairy I happened to see
dressed in a fantastical dress with two dappled wings of lace,
she shone like the midnight sun;
I must confess, she looked rather whimsical
sitting there by a green wooden door, waiting for your lore.

The fairy's presence whispers secrets
of forgotten worlds and moonlit paths
her laughter a gentle breeze that stirs
the leaves of ancient trees
as she vanishes into the shadows
leaving behind a trail of stardust

and the promise of mysteries yet to unfold
The green wooden door creaks open
a sliver of light spills out
inviting me to step into
the realm of wonder
where magic lingers
in every whisper
every shadow
every star

RESURRECTED DAWN

"Resurrected Dawn"
In twilight's hush, where shadows dance,
The Dire Wolf's howl, a haunting trance,
Echoes through the ravaged land,
As humans tremble, at their own hand.

The scientists' hubris, a fatal flaw,
Unleashed the beasts, in a world gone raw,
The T-Rex stalks, with calculated stride,
The Triceratops, with armor, does reside.
The Pteranodon's wings, a darkening sky,
As humans cower, with a desperate cry,
The Saber-toothed Tiger, with eyes aglow,
Prowls the ruins, where cities once did grow.

The planet's reborn, in a primal scream,
As ancient monsters, reclaim their dream,
The humans, a fragile, quivering throng,
Must adapt, or perish, in this resurrected wrong.

The Dire Wolf's pack, a ruthless might,
Hunts down the last, of humanity's light,
Yet, in their eyes, a glimmer of fear,
As they confront, the creatures they did bring here.

The world is lost, in a bygone age,
Where humans are prey, and beasts do engage,
Their primal instincts, a force so bold,

The future's uncertain, as the past unfold.
In this resurrected dawn, where monsters roam,
Humanity's fate, is a desperate, final home.

BIGOTRY

In rigid halls of dogma's might,
Begotry's dark shadow takes its right,
A fortress built on fear and scorn,
Where differences are met with disdain born.
The zealot's voice, a strident cry,
Echoes through the void, a divisive sigh,
Intolerance breeds in every line,
A world of others, cast in decline.
The narrow path, a rigid creed,
Leaves no room for hearts that freely proceed,
The gaze of judgment, cold and grey,
Falls on the different, day by day.
Yet, in the silence, whispers unfold,
Of empathy and understanding's gentle hold,
A call to break the chains of fear,
To see the world through others' tears.
But begotry's grip is hard to shake,
As conviction turns to anger, hearts at stake,
The world divides, a fractured whole,
Where love and kindness lose their role.
