Menopause

From birth to middle age
Tell tale signs sending us into a rage
Not knowing what to expect
Slowly approaching wondering what comes next

Hot flushes to mood swings
I wish someone would have told me these things
Trying to find a way to cope
Visits to the doctor for a glimmer of hope

Feelings of anxiety and despair
Searching for remedies it’s so unfair
Balancing hormones to reach a safe place
Tiredness constantly it shows on our face

Family life disrupted on a daily basis
Looking for normality researching cases
Always saying sorry to the ones, we love
Will it work out is it enough

Darkest Times

Sometimes in life we are in a very dark place
Sad and fearless stuck at our base
Confidence and enthusiasm totally shattered
Struggling to work out what really matters

All sense of reality is out of control
Searching within to find our soul
Looking for reasons with a glimmer of hope
Exhausting all avenues trying to cope

Tears came streaming down my face
Wondering about that happy place
Anxious upset almost trembling
Frightened and scared reaching for an ending

Thoughts and emotions constantly unstable
If only in life I was ready and able
Here is to conquering a new chapter in life
Never giving up without a fight

Life In Liverpool

Born into the city I love to call home
Feelings of uncertainty sometimes alone
Staring to the sky looking for a bright star
Life passing you by near or far

Life in the city has not always been ideal
Use your inner courage to keep it all real
Day by day just go with the flow
You will be surprised what you get to know

Life in Liverpool is all I have ever known
With plenty to do no need to feel on your own
Attractions and landmarks there is so much to see
A beautiful place there is nowhere else I would rather be

Take a ride on the ferry across the Mersey
Wind blowing my hair wearing my favourite jersey
Day turns to night bright lights glowing
Movement in the distance thoughts on going

Lovely Liverpool has been home to the most famous
From the Beatles to Cilla adored by all ages
This city will always have a place in my heart
Once you have visited you will not want to depart

Dear Miss Brown

Dear miss brown you have a heart of gold,
Your always on hand when things unfold,
A sweet caring nature that reflects on others,
Softly spoken your like everyone’s mother.

Dear miss brown you light up a room,
With positive vibes you shine like the moon,
When god made you we were gifted with someone special,
Nothing but pure beauty with the occasional freckle.

Dear miss brown your smile says it all,
You pick people up when they are about to fall,
From kind to sweet and hardworking too,
You always stop for whoever needs you.

Dear miss brown I could go on forever,
You reassure us we are in this together,
Thank you miss brown from the bottom of our heart,
Keep being you generous and smart.

Celebration of Pentecost

We gather together on this beautiful day
To celebrate the promise that showed us the way
The holy spirit descended upon the disciples of Jesus
Huddled around the fire pit embracing the breezes

We celebrate Pentecost in our own special way
Embracing our faith, like we do every other day
The direct experience and the present of god
Knowing what we believe in is ever so good

The spirit of john Lennon maybe with us here
We feel his presence the reminders are clear
From words to pictures and song lyrics to
Imagine all the people it isn’t hard to do

We recognise the gift of the holy spirit
At strawberry fields we will treasure every minute
We all stand together to celebrate our beliefs
We ended our day with what we wanted to achieve

Its Ok To Feel Low

Low low feeling low
Wishing there was a place I could go
My mind is racing with lots of thoughts
Lots of tears I once would have fought

Contacting friends to hear a voice
Hoping they can offer a choice
Floods of tears soon turned to laughter
Just what was needed and what I was after

That familiar sound lifts your spirits
If only you could drop by for a visit
Have positive thoughts keep yourself occupied
Don’t let the low take over and become terrified

Remember in life there is always someone to listen
Contact that person make it your mission
Don’t hide speak out get the help you need
It will all make sense, and you will succeed

The Art of Noise

Clocks ticking
Fingers clicking
Bands playing
Christians praying

Trees blowing
Rivers flowing
Birds singing
Bells ringing

Midnight chimes
Two or three times
Flowers appearing
Crowds cheering

Clouds in the sky
Aeroplanes ready to fly
Engines running
Bees humming

Memories Without Regrets

Buried and lowered into the ground
Mourners grieving not making a sound
The priest conducts a beautiful service
Bells ringing feeling slightly nervous

Weather is changing with a slight overcast
Life is so unfair loosing family so fast
Struggling to find ways to cope and carry on
Don’t drift apart before they have gone

Make fabulous memories or you will be left with regrets
Life goes on although you won’t forget
Be grateful be content look at what you had
Moving into the future remember things ain’t that bad

Closely Observing

Stood in a nightdress shivering and cold
Feeling unwell fearful and old
Window ajar net curtains blowing
Windy outside whistling and howling

Conifer to pear trees standing tall
Weather so dreadful they possibly may fall
Concerned and frightened closely observing
Peeking through the gap very unnerving

Darkness turns to light morning time arises
Not slept a wink conditions now minimized
Sleepy and lethargic functioning on zero energy
Searching for that something looking for a remedy

Reflecting on matters trying not to dwell
Lived to tell the tale safely and well
Always remember stay calm and do not panic
It is what it is yet felt so manic

Kitchen Chaos

Boiling the kettle making a drink
Standing alone with time to think
Dishes to clean floor to brush
Where do I start I need a push

Pull yourself together and tackle the mess
Dig out those marigolds and get rid of that stress
Kitchen chaos can spiral out of control
Not facing the problem, you will not reach that goal

Keep on top of that daily cleaning
You will burst with pride and always be beaming
Not being afraid to invite your friends for a get together
Your newly cleaned kitchen looks like it’s had a makeover

Proud and excited things are looking up
Do not let old habits slip it will be back to looking at muck
Its easy to become lazy again over time
Stick to your regime and your kitchen will be fine
