Phoenix Slimak Poem
Once there was a little redhead
Lying on his sweet little bed
Suddenly there was a scratching
Then his teddy he was snatching
Growls, beneath where he was lying
With all his might he was trying,
Desperately trying to be brave
But very soon he'd meet his grave
He cringed and pulled up the covers
Suddenly starting to hover
Violently up, up, up he went
He hit the roof and made a dent
Soon, he hit the floor with a CRASH
He was coughing, lungs full of ash
All he could see were two red eyes
So paralyzed with fear he died

Phoenix Slimak Poem
Edge glanced at the night sky and gasped
A combination of stars caught his eye, stopped his heart
Recall of these three stars: the belt of course!
There were other stars....he must know...
He ran to his room, tore the picture off the wall
Holding the reference against the sky's backdrop
Indeed, they each were there, and found in turn
Now tears filled his eyes
"It's real? It's real!" The proof there above
My name is Orion and he is there in the sky!
After five years on earth with Orion overhead
The exhilaration of discovery, a constellation; he cried
