Ebony Melendez Poem
This is the path I
choose,my greatest
reward will be knowing
I did it and not for me,
but for them. My family
means the world
to me,they always will
and I will stand by
them just like they have stood by me.
I've always been
told I am a leader,
I've been working on patience and being positive and now I'll
be put to the test. I can't change
everything that may happen,
nor can I protect what
I have no control over
but I can be the one who
takes it all on so that
others may have it easier
and when all of it is said
and done,looking back and
seeing the faces will warm my
heart and I'll know that
what I did was right,
was worth everything I'll
ever have been put through
and when I feel I can't I'll
know I can because I am not a quieter,
not a failure and
good is all that's left.....
it is here and I'm ready
now! I'm gearing up,
holding my head high,
fighting back any tears
and walking stronger
with every breath I have to take.
You don't have to understand,
nor make sense of what I've
written. Just be positive,
patient,and keep the faith.
I find that I love better,
smile a lot more and am
happy because of such
simple words if you really
believe in them.
Life is a blessing,
so is everything and
everyone in it, I intend to
live life with love,open arms
and the widest mind I
can have towards everyone
and about everything.
