Just Desert

I've got a runny nose,
I've got an awful cold,
I'm feeling very fragile and also very old.
I'm hot and got a fever, my throat is like raw beef,
No Matter what I do I cannot get relief.
I've tried to sweat it out with blankets by the score,
So many pills I've taken, I can't take anymore.
I have a nasty cough, my muscles ache like hell.
In fact I'm not too good, and don't feel very well.
I think I've got pneumonia or pluracy at least.
Nothing I can do will calm the raging beast.
Ironically it's funny I'll have to come to terms,
I'm a streptococci, one of a batch of germs.
I'm a little flu bug, I never thought I'd see,
The roles reversed in order, and I've given it to me.
