Lynn Essex Poem
In a tiny, rustic cabin
In the hills of Tennessee
Is where my weary mother
Bravely gave birth to me.
In a tiny, rustic cabin
In the hills of Tennessee
Is where I patiently waited,
‘Till someone married me.
In a tiny, rustic cabin
In the hills of Tennessee,
Is where we built our life
And raised a family.
In a tiny, rustic cabin
In the hills of Tennessee,
Is where we anxiously waited
For our little grandchild-to-be.
In a tiny, rustic cabin
In the hills of Tennessee,
Is where I’ll spend my days -
Until they bury me.
