No More Tears

How could you invade my privacy?
The only thing I had left of me.
You opened the door for the world to explore.
My young mind grew with hate so intense.
it consumed my very sense.
You who supposed to protect me
But instead found more ways of killing me.
And I prayed .
Oh please let me grow up
So I could fly away and never look back
But it wasn’t so
As everyday passed you dealt a different blow
How could you?
You knew I had no one but you
Please tell me what have I ever done?
To deserve the treatment for one so young
It was not my fault I came out a girl
Messing up your very world
Had he loved you, it would not have mattered
Whether it be a boy or a girl you carried
You he would have still married
Foolish woman you are
Trying to trap a man by giving him a boy
And when he left you said
“ French letter I should have thrown you instead
I did not understand
But as I grew older
Your careless words became more spiteful and fill with anger
They pierced my heart, sharper than a dagger
How could you not see
The beautiful person I could have been
You closed your eyes refusing to see me after birth.
Nothing good was I worth
Now you have grown olf and dying
But my heart have grown cold no more tears will I be crying

We Need Good Governance

They were not killing the ganja field
They were polluting our land.
Chemically implementing every thing that grow to feed rastaman
The Prime Minister with his weak invention.
Is no longer able to feed us food without chemical.

Everywhere you go you see.
Rasta selling his weed.
Little does he know. They are loaded with
Genetically engineered seed

Dread locks fell off
Baby a bawl
Man can no longer plant on his farm
And sickness plague the land.

We need good governance
Because the one we have
No longer make sense.

Crazy On a Thursday

Everyday is a new day
Except Thursday the symptom always replay
Madness, mental instability, psychological disorder.
Call it what you may
It’s the same thing every Thursday

Her frienenemies taunted and teased her all day long
But on Thursday, they singing a different song.
A new girl came badder than the rest
Decided to give Swofiyah a test
She didn’t know the history behind the face
Even though they warned her “gal mind your place
If you continue to trouble Swofiyah
When Thursday come, you know
She a go do to you

But she didn’t listen
With exposed pearly white glistening
She continue teasing
She was having fun
But the rest couldn’t wait to see Thursday come

Swofiyah didn’t realized what was going on
All day she felt tired and sleepy, she a yawn
Thinking how lovely it would be to go back to her yard
Thursday came her mind clear
What did the little heifer said
I did not hear
“Fool, fool mad eeks go to Bellevue?”
Look how I’m going to make her think
Me a work Voodoo
Come here Pearly White you
Know me never trouble you
But every time you see me
You say sump’m
Look how you going to feel the little gal slap
Straight up to the grand father and back
Sit down there, let me fix my handicap

She went into her bag and took out some reinforcers
Pointing them to Pearly White who stood there frozen
I have the little boy and the big man teeth rattler
The mother and the father jaw buster
The grandmother and the grandfather neck breaker
Which one you want to sample?
Because you need to be taught a lessen

Pearly White saw her eyes for the first time
The color had changed and evil lurking behind
Darn it, I should have listened to what they say
Look at this obeah raas, is where she going with those, anyway?
What! You don’t know I can read mind too
If you say something else, I’m going to hit you
She decided to forego the reinforcers
Bent down and picked up the silencer
But as she looked up, she sight
Pearly White well shaped and beautiful
no overbite
She reached out and picked up the grandfather neck breaker
Strapped it on and said to Pearly White
This will teach you a lesson
She raised her hand and before Pearly could breathe
Wham! There goes the teeth
She took up her toy and aimed it at Pearly knees
Pulled the trigger and Pearly body hit the street

As Pearly wiggled from the pain
She replaced her tools and walked away having no shame
She stopped and turned to face the dumfounded crowd
Remember, anybody trouble me, as you see today
Just tell them to wait until Thursday.

Ni Hao

Imagine! She lived in a China for five years
And come back asking me
“How are your knees?
But see here child
They are as strong as ever
If you please
“Oh no Mama
I’m only speaking Chinese”

Yesterday, I heard her said
To Paster Ned
“Come saw me da”
I got so embarrassed
I had to tell him “Sorry ya”
Later, I told her don’t do it again
She said, she was only speaking Korean.

She’s my daughter
But I had to ask her
What happened to your Jamaican?
It’s perfectly fine to continue speaking like the English man.
So, where ever you go and you come back here
Make sure to not confuse me,
Or you elder

I know you travel and learnt a lot a language
But when you come back here, don’t talk you garbage
Stick to your common Jamaican
Or the words of the Englishman.

Chasing Dreams Is All I Have Left

He had high expectations. I was supposed to be one of his kept women. One of the many he had forced in his underground prostitution.

He realized the mistake he made

When he made an unsuccessful attempt.

At trying to force me to lick his lollypop. He didn’t know that I’m not that person.
The weeks turned into months and he saw that nothing was coming out of it except the things that were written down.

His try colors started showing. I’m now ‘dead weight’. ‘Useless’. Now, he kindly asked me to ‘get the hell out.’

Another broken promise. What did I expect? The world is fill of promisers with words coming off their tongues like the wind.

And don’t get me started on my family, who seemed to love me when the money was rolling in.

“China is nice.” They said.

I’m sending money to them. I could pay my rent, my light bill, my telephone that they kept hacking into. I could treat myself to nice dinners at fancy restaurants. Something I could never seemed to do in the West.

“She travels the world, she has money.” They said. “Give me something, mon.”

“I don’t have anything to give, now.”

The shame, disgrace and disappointment plain on their faces was worse than been thrown out in the cold with nothing but the two suitcases.

“Why did you return? You should have stayed.” They said.

In the West when you’re alone and have no one to help you and the ones that you used to rely on have hardened due to the changing times, it made you realized how poverty stricken you really are.

“But what is wrong with you? They asked.

“ You should have been married already. Look at you, as beautiful as you are, how are you still single? They asked

“Is something wrong with you?” They asked

“Nothing is wrong with me. I just don’t want to end up like my mother.”

 I should be so lucky.

She was poor and poverty stricken, but she had a roof over her head.

I don’t want to end up like my mother.

I. Should. Be. So. Lucky.

"Educated and experienced, chasing dreams. Where does that get?" They asked.

No. I don’t have a sponsor. However, I’m asking you for a little more time to finish this book.

Regardless of the situation, I only have to put up with the promiser who has the tongue like wind.

Only on the weekends.

But you, whose knocking at the back of my mind kept crushing my concentration.

Stop!

I promise, when I’m done, I’ll be gone.

Because chasing dreams is all that I have left.

Reflecting

Dying.

                   Died.

                                      Getting old.

Living in poverty.

                                     Very poor.

Many are rich. What are they doing?

                              Influenced by the media.

China is very peaceful. Not really.

                                                        (2)

                          Mourning? Morning.

  Sad

                                           Very sad.

                                                  Melancholy sad

                                                           Depressed even.

                                                                (3)

Background noise.

                        Foreground.

                                             Too busy.

    Noise. Noise

                                             My head.

                                      Shut the hell up!

                                                  (4)

One day equals a thousand years.

Mankind is getting from bad to monster.

                                                    Very bad.

                                                    You’re bad.

Sit!

                      Sit the hell down!

Inhabited earth. Jehovah.
Yehehua! YWHY. Yahweh!

                                                           A LO DU MA RE?

How Dare You

Who gave you the right to carry me in your belly for nine months, bring me into the world me you abused? Who?

Who gave you the right to open my door and want the world to explore? Who?

You think you have the right? You think you have the power? How dare you!

Who made you think that because of your color, you can kill, rape and murder.

Construct a society to suit your purpose? How dare you?

You think you’re so powerful. You think you can talk to me any old way and expect me to take it?

How Dare You?

The Crush Material

It’s the crush material
That’s how I’m feeling
Just like what you’re seeing
I’m so crumbled, I can’t come straight
I feel like I’m a bait
Telling me you love me
Next day me you hate.
It’s the crush material
It’s not made to be straight
Though it’s beautiful,
You can’t wear it everyday
The crushed material
Reflects my heart’s feeling
Come back to me
Can’t you see I’m calling?

What Should I Do With You

I, like humans, was given the task to create.
But what did you do? You berated, plundered and infuriated
me.
You dug, chapped, and pillage
Nothing is left of my foliage
My trees, land and sea,
Nothing is left clean, as was given thee.
What should I do with you?

Multiply and become many
But you rather make penny
And don’t forget to take care of all the creatures.
But you rather rape the land of its treasures
Vegetation from the land you should be fed
But only few did
Have dominion over the animals, not man
Yet you went and displaced the indigenous from their lands
What must I do with you?

You indoctrinated falseness
Colonised, and made a mess
Plotting to kill and control the global populous
Creating more chaos
Now you’re sitting and acting pious
What am I going to do with you?

More and more are getting poorer
Disease and pandemic is ravaging them faster
And many are thinking “to die is better”
Yet there is enough for everyone
But the greed of the one percent
Owned most of the land
Should I stretch out my hand and eradicate everyone?
What do you think I should do?

Hurry! There is not enough time
If you come together and work what is fine
Reversing the evil of your forefathers
Reaping the benefit of something greater
Right the wrong, make it better
Will give you the sight of a brighter future
Together as one you all should go.
That is what y’all should do

I Slept On My Eyes

I slept on my eyes and my eyes are very red

And when I look up I see blue instead

The blue sky falling on the wing of a bird. This sky falling on the wing of a dove.
This blue sky on the wing of an eagle.

I slept on my eyes and my eyes are very red

And I look around the earth trembled with dread.
The Master is watching as the thread weakened.
Leaving the earth to stumble and mankind fallen.

I slept on my eyes and my eyes are very red.

And I look and saw them fill with youth and vigor.
Watching me, watching them. Care not for the world they live in.

Love, they claimed as I see their thoughts even though
I am having problem
How often does that happened?

I slept on my eyes and my eyes are very red.

And I look down on the earth on which I tread. One black foot going ahead of the other, walking in circles, going after nothing.
As man runs and the earth shakes, mankind falls.

I walked in circles.

Asking.

Where am I going? Why can’t I reach there? And how much longer will I feel this pain in my eyes?
