Chasing Rabbit

Chasing Rabbit
                                           By: Iris Roberts
                                               Chapter I

A summer day filled with joy; an everlasting dream once revealed a treasure
so pure. I am sure it could not be seen by just anyone, for they had to be keen.

Now this gem was hard to find and needed a trusted guide to lead…
Beneath this forest and under the earth it was indeed!

A young girl so innocent with the world’s reflection in her eyes, skipped across
the way, thinking of a different life beyond that day.

Never-the-less, she was blessed, a girl so young and fair; she decided to stop by the bank. The water was enchanting and made her stare, where she noticed the bushy tail of a hare.

A distinguished bunny he was, clad in a tailored silk suit, a top hat and a fancy
spectacle over his left eye. Shimmered time hung from his waistcoat pocket; he checked it very rigorously as if he was in a hurry to go somewhere.

Confused and intrigued she says, “How funny, a bunny wearing clothes?” “Ha!” She cackled. “I must be seeing things.”

Without a hitch he spoke to her. “I assure you child, I am real; I am here to reveal the truth for you to steal.” “I see you have come to the right place, so hurry along and follow me this way into the rabbit hole where the garden lays.” In an instance she made a decision to partake in the revision; a journey
soon glorified as she followed along, into the darkness where light had prolonged.

                                              Prelude

The truth will always be in plain sight, that’s inevitable, but one must know
the lie.

Chasing Rabbit: the Burrow

Chasing Rabbit
                                           By: Iris Roberts
                                               Chapter II
                                             “The Burrow”

Now Alice danced drunkenly up the green pathway ahead and tripped with a
giddy cackle as she said, “Mr. Rabbit, where are we going; I am feeling rather drawn to this place that is unknowing?.”

He wiggled his nose, and with his two fingers stretched out over his whisker, stood in a firm pose; “Who knows girl, but does it matter, for this place is like no other.” “I believe this one has a divine mother.”

So he leaned over and kissed her hand to wink at her ever so slightly; “Alice, come now we mustn’t wait, see look at my watch here, it is getting way too late.” She then replied, “Wow Mr. Rabbit, this is a lot to take in, but I have nothing to lose, so let’s begin.”

“Alright, Alice that’s the ticket, here we go further down the burrow, see the path?” As she hastily kneeled down, she peeked inside to see only darkness; she was very intrigued. “So dear, it’s very clear, you must need some help,
So I’ll push you near.” The rabbit chuckled as he followed along.

She screamed as she fell beneath a dark void; a slip in consciousness
she could not avoid.

                                                  Riddle
Into the darkness we all must follow, into a land of wonder where it is hollow?
