Stephen Power Poem
Head shaved to
floods of tears
Been told months
Pray for years
Don't know what's in store for me
Cross my fingers and wait and see
Had a visit to the surgery for a routine appointment
Dr sat me down and sold me disappointment
Those tests you've had couldn't be worse
Get yourself home son an
book yourself a hearse
Head shaved to
Floods of tears,
Been told months
Pray for years,
Don't know whats in store for me
Cross my fingers and wait and see
I worry's for my lovely spouse
She'll see the death of her man of the house
She'll move on with the hands of time
It's such a pity those hands arnt mine.
Head shaved to,
floods of tears
Been told months
Pray for years
Don't know what's
In store for me
Cross my fingers and wait and see
How do you tell your kids the news you've bin given
Can't tell them I'm dieing
Cos life is for livin
They'll have to learn to get on
Cos it wont be long before I'm gone
Head shaved to
Floods of tears
Been told months
Pray for years.
Don't know what's in store for me cross my fingers and wait and see
Sat down and cryed like hell, trying to organise my funeral
I hope the wake wont look like the Mary Celeste
Mabe they'll contact renter guest
Head shaved to
floods of tears
Been told months
Pray for years
Don't know what's in store for me Cross my fingers and wait and see
It's now approaching the dreaded day
priest brought in to help me pray
Waste of time
I'm on my way

Stephen Power Poem
Hey Mr president don't take
us to war
Don't load up your guns to settle a score
Your soldiers will gladly give you their lives
Please don't feed them bull , rhetoric and lies
Hey Mr president please save us the earth
Take a look at your children and remember their birth
Don't tear up nuclear agreements that will save the masses
Don't change the law that stop green house gases
Hey Mr president if your not a racist then do what you can
Stop the white supremacist and the klu Klux Klan
Hey Mr president have your say
on the rights of the needy the lesbian and gay
and while your at it please pass a bill to protect returning vets who are mentally ill
Hey Mr president all these things must be done
So the world can prosper an live as one
Talking and compromise will be the key
To stop us all living in total anarchy

Stephen Power Poem
Games not straight
Toffs on horses still killing foxes.
Boris parties while we put nans in boxes. Chancellor won’t pay his rate.
I tell you now, the games not straight .
Palace pays millions to get rid.
Mum shops at food bank to feed her kid.
This aint the thirties, check the date.
I tell you now the games not straight.
Multi Nationals won’t pay their fees.
Old age pensioners sit and freeze.
Patients on trolleys told to wait.
I tell you now the games not straight

Stephen Power Poem
CRAZY WORLD
The world's gone mad
It's driving me crazy
Is satan winning
Or has God got lazy
Fighter named jahadi Jack
walks round town with a bomb strapped to his back
He'd blow up the world if he was able
Made in Britain, wrote on his label
The world's gone mad
It's driving me crazy
Is satan winning
Or has God got lazy
Switched on the Tele for the news at nine
Saw an missile launched at Palestine
When I watched again at ten
A missile landed on Jerusalem
The world's gone mad
Its driving me crazy
Is satan winning
Or has God got lazy
Homless people by the plenty
Thousands of homes standing empty
Drug gangs getting bigger and bigger
Get the kids to pull the trigger
The world's gone mad
It's driving me crazy
Is satan winning
Or has God got lazy
Mum's can't afford to feed the kids
Supermarket waste under refuse lids
Rampaging kids cause a riot
Police shoot them down to keep them quiet
The world's gone mad
It's driving me crazy
Is satan winning
Or has God got lazy

Stephen Power Poem
The alcoholic
Wake up in the morning have a drink or two
You know how it is? just to get me through.
Go into work for my daily toil
Good old Dave the life and soul.
First in the queue to take the money to the bank
Call in the pub, another couple sank.
Eyes on the clock, lunch at one
Two large ones later, shakes have gone
Stay on my own the rest of the day
Chewing on mints,it’s better that way.
There’s another five pints before I get in,
Straight up to bed or open the gin?
Wake up at eleven in a pool of sick
My names Dave and I’m an alcoholic
