In the Midst of Hope

As the shattered ruins of tomorrow’s world
horrifies shallow minds
As the peace which we all succumbed to
remains unglorified
As the place we call our own
litters with the ravages of the fortnight
Humanity lies holding a candle
in the name of peace and harmony
which yet does not penetrate their minds

As the inhabitants of this world decimate
their lands are pillaged
As people embrace vanity
and suffer their own ways
As the string of skeletons have their name etched
In the book of sorrow
In the book of dead
The rebellious peasants are intent
on causing wreckage
Proving harm to their own people
They don’t know that rather
we all are the descendants of the same forefathers

I want this to end
noises of gunfire hurt ears drums
Piercing and killing lives
the images and the feelings
scar some for life
This is the place of death
And I try to keep hope.

One Day

She stares at her ceilings once again
With a hundred thoughts
Maybe he knows who I am
Actually probably not
She walks down the hall with her head down low
Scared to meet his eyes
Even when she hears his voice
She’s swarmed with butterflies

It’s impossible to
Get you off my mind
I think about a hundred thoughts
And you’re 99
I’ve understood that you will never be mine
And that’s fine
I’m just breaking inside

He always walks the crowded halls and is blinded by her light
A girl who keeps her head down and shows her eyes
He’s trying to talk to her but there’s no easy way
Cause every time he raises his voice
She runs away

It’s impossible to
Get you off my mind
I think about a hundred thoughts
And you’re 99
I’ve understood that you will never be mine
And that’s fine
I’m just breaking inside

And one day
Maybe she’ll stay
And start to head over his way

And one day
Should look into his eyes instead of breaking
She’ll call him mine

You Do Not See Me

You don’t see me

Like beautiful dawns, all made up and bright
Radiant people, in splintering light
All moving at the speed of life
Reflecting in each others' eyes
But you're moving so fast
Through this beautiful scene
You don't see me

Oh truly we are, a fortunate few
Who turn on your axis, revolve around you
All spinning outwards from your sun
Passing your reflection on
In your hurry to grasp
Everything you see
You don't see me

Such a beautiful view
I guess you've seen it all
But you see nothing at all
Such a beautiful view
Shining so bright
