Geren Diaz Poem
A price is paid when we put our memories on paper
In so far as the printed word an apprenticeship
For craftsmen to weave their genius between them
That take over both astral body as well as breath of life
Opting to hide written treasures from the public eye
While family and friends add concerted aplomb
Or a noteworthy teacher pushes for publication
In revolt of Ying and Yang upon each shoulder
Delectable flavors leave us salivating
On this new treat the masses all want
For a healthy portion of stardust
To replace that starving artist within

Geren Diaz Poem
Everybody is eye-catching
Until someone close to us
Says we are not.
Facing a mirror every day,
As no Snow White to ask
About the fairest in all the land.
Once looked down upon
By family, schoolmates, teachers,
Kids around the neighborhood,
And strangers out on the street.
Years until able to see
No matter of that public voice,
True adulation lays within.

Geren Diaz Poem
In a child's blueprint
Most telling memories
Lay dead and buried
Prior to ghosts that torment him grown
The plain act
Of daydreaming
Has ways to call forth
A multitude of zombies from his past
Like a family friend playing father
After Dad's recent demise
Assisting the mother easily overcome
By her youngest boy dubbed Exceptional
Taken aside and told
He's really something
But aware it did not amount to a lot
Through the eyes of those most dear
