Growing Old

Why is it old age is so lonely?why is it such a bore?
Why because you're getting old,No one wants you anymore?
As a Mother and a Wife, you give your very best,
Perhaps it's just because, they think you need a rest,
Once children ran riot in your home, now you'll be really lucky,
If they pick up the phone.
Yes we know they have their own lives,
And they work everyday, but we gave up our lives,
Just to help them on their way
When we should be enjoying life,we're left all alone,
With just our memories,if only we had known.
We never thought that we would be,so lonely in our lives,
Some have lost their Husbands, and some have lost their wives.
So all you children out there, who have parents still alive,
Be grateful for the love and care, that they gave you all you're lives,
Remember that although, you've left them all alone,
They still need hugs and love, and it's great to see you come home,
Don't make them feel unwanted,go see them once in a while,
Give them something to live for, something to make them smile.
One day you all realise,How lonely life can be,
And when that day comes,I know you'll think of me!

Remembering My Mum

Remembering My Mum

The Moment that you died My heart was torn in two One side filled with heartache The other died with you I often lie awake at night When all the world's asleep And take a walk down memory lane With memories that I keep Remembering you is easy I do it everyday But missing you is heartache That never goes away I hold you tightly in my heart And there you will remain Until my life on earth does end When we will meet again Love always

Remembering My Mum

The Moment that you died
My heart was torn in two
One side filled with heartache
The other died with you
I often lie awake at night
When all the world's asleep
And take a walk down memory lane
With memories that I keep
Remembering you is easy
I do it everyday
But missing you is heartache
That never goes away
I hold you tightly in my heart
And there you will remain
Until my life on earth does end
When we will meet again
Love always

The Passing Years

The passing years

Oh!where,oh where have my babies gone, Oh!where,oh where can they be. Five minutes ago they were safe in my arms, Now I can sit on their knee. From time to time I look back on these days, With loving tears in my eyes, It's so unbelievable when children are born, How fast those years go by. Babies are very precious,we nurture them with care, They make you laugh, they make you cry, At times we could pull out our hair. These emotions we go through, When they are growing away, Before you know it they have gone, And it's another day. The cycle starts over once more, An ever turning circle of life, Grandchildren are at the door, Once more your world is rife. But we love and we nurture them, They are such a joy, We really spoil them rotten, And buy them lots of toys. It's just like having your babies home, Your life is no longer a bore, The only difference being, when you've had enough, You can send them home once more.

Childhood Days

If I had my childhood days over again,
I'd go to the woods and the meadows to play,
I'd pick butterflies, and make daisy chains,
And laugh if i got caught out in the rain,
I'd have birthday treats with plenty to eat,
And invite all the children that lived in the street,
And one thing I'd like,and I'm sure Mummy'd agree,
Is to invite the little Lord Jesus to tea,
How nice it would be,for us all to be good,
And follow his footsteps as good children should.

Remembering My Dad

We didn't know that day
That God would call your name
In Life I loved you dearly
In Death I do the same
It broke My heart to lose you
But you did not go alone
For part of me went with you
The day God called you home
You left me beautiful memories
Your love is still my guide
And though I cannot see you
You're always by my side
Our Family chain is broken
And nothing will ever be the same
But as God calls us one by one
The chain will link again
Love you Dad rest in peace

For the Most Wonderful Husband

It's Been 4 yrs Mike,what can I say,
I've Missed you so much everyday.
I was just 17 when I became your bride,
From then you Were always by my side.
Everything we did,we did together,
You saw me Through the Stormy weather.
We made a home filled with love,
Raised the children sent from heaven above.
But our time together never came,
Because an Angel Called your name.
I know you were tired of the fight,
It took It's toll both day and night.
But we fought it together for 16 years,
Through the good times and the tears.
You always smiled, you were Never Sad,
You took the good times with the bad.
I know you're still here with me,
What I would give if I could see,
Your smiling face and loving eyes,
Your tender touch when you said goodbye.
To hold you just one time more,
To see you walk in through the door.
I love you Darling with all my heart,
And even though we are apart,
My love for you will never die,
I'll say Hello and not Goodbye.
One day we'll be together again,
Then sunny skies will block out The rain.
