Another One Gown

Fell to the concrete, body went numb
Bullets tore through my flesh, Damn! I think I’m done
Stick a fork in me, do it come out clean, Hell nah
Dat fork is dripping with my blood.

Came out of nowhere this here ain't right
I’m a hard working man who puts up a fight
never put my hands around a piece of steel
So when I fought, it was with a heart of steel

Solved many problems with these here hands
And when I caught up to you,
I drove your face in the sand

Don’t need this right now, because my family needs this man right now
3 years ago, I might not have cared at all, but now I’m married
And my baby girl can’t be raised by another man at all.

This is a torn moment, it’s vicious. Life did not throw me a curve ball
But instead it chunked me a hell bound twist.
But you know what, it’s the way the world moves.

Never wanted to ever go out like this, ad least let me go out protecting
My future family with my fist. But I guess that’s no longer an option.
And right now I lay painless and bleeding on the concrete.
What can I say, was 25, black and young.
Guess I'm Just another young black man lost to the slums.
