Let Me Go

Lost and Sad, that's all my heart has ever known.
Small in height, heavy in mind
This blackened agony grew familiar, despite the desperate cries
                                     The noisy silence was mine.
                                               Mine, alone.

My pondering soul engulfed by the night, having no control
                                              over my mind.
Help. I'm terrified of what I may wake up to.
Although pills are part of my daily routine,
it's hard not to feel like a stranger in need.

                                   Drowning in Sorrow and Despair,
I ask every moment, when will I be free?
The path I have been on, has been long and dreary,
like a storm raging through the winds.

The mind always wonders, despite the time of day.
A place of liberation and tranquility.
Slowly shutting down, each breath artificial and the loss of sensation

I cannot go on, merely existing causes me pain.
My heart pounding each hopeless day, enduring the
                                    numbness that comes my way.
The time has come, long overdue.
                                            So Let go, Mum.
                                           Simply, let me go.
