Joy Adetunji Poem
With her eyes filled with tears, she was bereft
And her heart broken of love,
She stopped down and wept;
Where had they taken her love?
With longing, so much for her Lord,
That the dazzling sight of angels could not appease
And the stiff of her, Lord it could not replace.
All she wanted and longed for, was her Lord.
Then, just in a moment, her name she heard
"Mary" ,by her Lord she was called.
Her heart leaped, Her tears dried,
Her soul satisfied.
Words could not explain
The joy she felt, and could not contain.
All she could say was Rabonni
He is alive! He is risen!
Oh what Joy she felt, A Great Joy,
Heavenly Joy, Perfect Joy.
John 20:11-18

Joy Adetunji Poem
Waking up to the sounds of chirping birds in the trees
Is the sweetest wake up call nature gives me
Beckoning softly from dreamland to life
The cool breeze wafting through my window panes
Reminds me of the sweetness in freshness every morning.
Oxygen from photosynthesis, undiluted
This is just enough ambrosia to start my day
I long to remain wrapped in the arms of mother nature
Held captive by the wondrous sights and stillness
But the blaring horns of the train would not let me be
Jolting me out of nature’s harmony
Into the reality of the struggle for survival…

Joy Adetunji Poem
Concealing hurts,
Camouflaging heartbreak with humor.
With beam, belies
the melancholy and pain within;
It speaks courage,
From a heart broken severally;
It speaks of strength,
Though weary, it will believe again;
It speaks of Hope,
Though weary, it will believe again;
It speaks volume,
Millions of words that can't be uttered.

Joy Adetunji Poem
As nature’s beauty massages my being
And the waves responding to the wind
Though trouble waters reduces its speed
I'll dream on of one beyond the sights of the sea
Lost in thoughts as the fishes in the sea
Inwardly craves for the warmth of the deep
My hands coddle the roots of my hair
Cogitating the arrival of my dear
Then the colour of the skies changed
A boat was in sight, full of Roses
A beat my heart could not but skip
Behold, my love arrayed in nature’s euphony
What more can I ask for?
A gift and blessing to mankind he is
Connected with forces of kindness so tight
Immersed in the ocean of love, my dream

Joy Adetunji Poem
THE REDEEMED ASSURANCE
God will ne'er leave you, come what may!
He will stand right by you all the way.
Trials could sometimes seem long and fierce,
And drowning weights of burdens and cares;
But God will never forsake you.
He watches o'er the redeemed true-blue.
He will never let you crumble;
He will hold you firm lest you stumble.
Though, sometimes He permits a test,
He'll be waiting at the end to give you rest.

Joy Adetunji Poem
I long for something
I know not what it is;
I quest for something,
I know not how to get!
Maybe a lifetime
Twill cost to acquire;
Or maybe a dime
I'll need to procure;
Come unravel this mystery
Save me form this unknown misery

Joy Adetunji Poem
thornless Rose
Beautiful roses
Void of thorns
Could life ever be
Free of thorns?
I'll just enjoy today
My 'thornless rose',
And leave tomorrow
For when it comes...
