Mario Kart

I was playing my Nintendo
controller in my hand
I guess I dozed off
to Mario Kart land

It was Donkey Kong Stadium
I was in the lead
no one could catch me
as I reached maximum speed

Approaching the finish line
I heard a thundering squreech
slamming into the back of me
was my opponent peach

Everything went dark
and when I opened my eyes
I had fallen off my bed
only a dream to my surprise.

Life of a Dialysis Patient

I wake up early Monday morning
still cold and dark outside
eat my breakfast, take my pills
sit and wait for my ride,

arrive at the center
get comfortable in my chair
like I do 3 times a week
thankful t hat I'm there

I come to every treatment
I never show up late
I eat a healthy diet
and watch my fluid intake

This isn't the life I chose for me
but I have to tell you this
I wouldn't be sitting here today
if it wasn't for Dialysis.

In the World of Darkness

In the world of darkness
the walls are closing in
struggling an endless battle
she's never gonna win

In the world of darkness
is like living in a trance
reality seems so distant
to grasp it there's no chance

In the world of darkness
was more than she could cope
loneliness was overwhelming
causing her to lose all hope

it came unexpectedly
without a single warning
taking the easy way out
leaving family and friends mourning

surely she's not to blame
for she was weaken by temptation
if we'd only taken the time
to understand and communication

again the world of darkness
took another innocent being
right before our eyes
without anybody seeing

she reached out for help
in many different ways
because our failure to see
in peace now she lays.

If I Found a Bottle

If I found a bottle
with a Genie locked inside
I'd rub and rub and rub
for that magic carpet ride

then he would grant me
wishes I get three
I'd make my first two wishes
and the third I'd set him free.

Fishing

Today I went fishing
I didn't catch not one
good thing I was only
fishing to have fun

I baited up my hook
casted out my line
I'm gonna catch a big one
was running through my mind

I zipped up my jacket
as day turned to night
sat down in my chair
that's when I felt a bite

I jumped to my feet
and started reeling in
it's got to be a big one
I thought with a grin

up from the water
I couldn't believe my eyes
was the biggest wad of seaweed
unfortunatley to my surprise

I'll never forget the day
of this story being told
I came home with nothing
but an awful winter cold.

Oh My Precious Son

Oh my precious son
you mean the world to me
most important thing
forever you will be

such a beautiful little boy
with such a caring heart
healthy as can be
and very very smart

the road ahead may get tough
but I'm determined to succeed
giving you the guidance
and strength that you need

I don't expect it to be easy
raising you on my own
being both mom and dad
until you are grown

I'm going to be successful
teaching you to be strong
when temptation is overwhelming
and teaching you right from wrong

I'm not only your mother
but I am also your friend
a friendship that's everlasting
and love that never ends.

Little Girl

Broken heart
shattered dream
hidden soul
silent scream.

Why

What happened to our dreams
we shared not long ago
too weak to hold on
we just let them go?

Where are all those feelings
we thought were so strong
was that just yesterday
and today they are gone?

Did our love slowly change
or all of a sudden die
not giving us a chance
forcing us to say good-bye?

How did all this happen
in blink of an eye
our love ended, our dreams shattered
I still wonder why.
