Factition

the streets and boulevards of my interior
are full of signs promising strange things
if you just come inside
try a handle, look for a key
work to find a way inside me

surprises and I sigh and sip my curse
I haven't attempted to change once
but a million times
I dream and they're not nightmares
they loop de loop and run through and run through
and don't mention you.

I am separated and not alone with myself
I'm too entertaining for that
you're not sick you're just boring
and I have better things to do
than sit here and analyze you analyzing me.

my eyes roll to the back of my head
and see me there and I'm lit up like a carnival.
the grey matter glows neon and blinks red and blue
all a bit unbelievable
and that's my mission

I'm a factition.

Piano Girl

Her piano fingers are singing
And dancing up my spine now around my neck and oh! Straight into my heart-
Can I fall in love with you, piano girl?

Softly you
Trip and dance your music down a lane filled with sunshine dappled shadow,
An interplay of light within sound within laughter;

How you touch my inmost me and lift me!
Tapping and swaying and singing and playing
Sweetness and blessings circling ‘round me
as I sip my tea and listen to the love in your fingers, piano girl.

New Relationship

I already don't like you
even as I cling to your warmth
and allow you to caress me tenderly.

Moaning, any lustful union
is a sort of death -
No life will come of death
No future will be found in death

We were finished before we met
Concluded before we began
Cursed before we could be blessed
Dead before love could be created.

I feel peaceful and warm,
ensconced in your gentle demeanor,
you who are so willing and eager
to love and be loved.

I am an artist
and an actor
and a fake
and a cheat.

Alone in my tyranny
Separated by my black heart
Unable to give you what you want
I extend and kiss you and sigh.

Ugly Toad

Blah Blah Blah
Flip into overload
Turn into ugly toad
Must have drank too much

Can't see my own senseless sadness
within my own harsher madness
Where is God when I'm buried alive

Trying to function -
Depression sucks.
I've never had luck
depended on God for blessings instead
And I wish I were dead

Is it all in my head?
Of course - isn't that where life occurs?

can't see through these neurotic blurs

Help me Lord
to see you through this cloud
to hear you tho' it's loud
I drug myself to feel normal

Jesus my head hurts.

Of a Child

My child, lost in the clutches of the Evil One -
believing that you must be the Evil Son;
Oh my child, my pure white heart breaks.

I look at you, caught
in your dark and solitary prison;
enslaved by a power too dark and too large for you
clawing at the walls of your soul.

I see you from my alabaster fortress,
from my righteous inheritance,
from my holy estate.

Poor disheveled bastard -
lying in society's gutter screaming
nobody seeing your soul
abandonment sealing your fate;

I attempt to shift my gaze
to something beautiful in my heavenly realm,
only to hear you weeping of a broken life
and crying of a broken heart.

My gaze is fixed upon your predicament;
I am caught in a moment of my Father's love
and it catches me unaware;
I was once in that gutter there.
