Night Time In Knust

It is night time,
someone is returning from Independence.
Tomorrow marks the deadline for the submission of assignments
but Someone still doesn’t know how the formula ends,
so Someone resorts to copying from a friend.

It’s night time,
Somebody should have been in her room by now,
thinking of ways to solve question one.
But Somebody is returning from town;
the party had been boring – she couldn’t believe those clowns
only wasted her time.

It is night time;
it is two weeks to exam,
yet even God’s explanation for 1+1=1, I can’t understand.
My God! How many times was I in class?
One? Two? None!
I’m in my room, now, waiting and praying that Someone
has gotten the solutions after the hunt.

There are some exams Someone just can’t afford to trail;
Some exams Somebody can’t always bargain,
yet here I stand in the middle again,
not sure if I should bargain or trail.
Wish University exam is as comforting as the lecturer’s pay;
that way I could choose which friend to follow today.
Yet, here I am perusing into the dawn of a new day.
