Kayli Maiste Poem
A rocky path leads the way
to the grasses
flowers decorating the fields,
and threw it at river passes
They all sing a song of hope
and stand proud.
They’re playing a game
they are running all around
the men’s brows are furrowed
they want to stay standing
this game is important
And the rules are commanding.
But the rocky path leads
to a battlefield
the flowers are trampled and dead.
a river of blood keeps hope concealed
the men sing their anthem
as they point their guns with pride
they are toying with their life
sweat matted nearly dried.
They stand, apprehensive
tears gleam in their eyes.
For death is their punishment
life is their prize

Kayli Maiste Poem
Nowhere but everywhere
A meaningless comet
Orbiting a planet lost at space
I am dust
I will be swept away
I hope I find my way
To the moon
I am lost at space
And so are you
We are nothing
And nothing isn’t less than me
Sad days aren’t sad for the stars
And happy days don’t affect the moon
Your pain is nothing
And so am I.
All of us are lost at space

Kayli Maiste Poem
Spinning thoughts
Down like a funnel
Madness she’s got
Time is a tunnel
An abyss of fears
Hopes to belittle
Brain turning like gears
Her heart so brittle
At your chest they aim
Shooting their darts
Playing their messed up game
Watch out for queen of hearts
Let your imagination run free
And you should beware
Terrors you’ll see
Dream if you dare
