Gone

She was here
And then she wasn't
But it wasn't until she left
That it hit

The emptiness
Filling
Consuming
Everything
With her absence

But it would be selfish
To whisk her back here
To send away our sadness

The Path

The long path in the woods,
It may seem dark at first,
But if you keep walking,
You will find there was nothing to fear.

All your friends are there,
To help you on your way,
Don't be afraid to ask them,
Don't be afraid to confide in their ears.

For if you don't keep your worries to yourself,
The burden will feel lighter,
And less like a shelf,
Holding up books, containing weights,
Heavier than any volume.

The long path in the woods,
It may seem dark at first,
But it will get lighter,
And things will be brighter.

Space

Space
Vacum
Lack
Of
Oxygen
Literally
Breathtaking
Seemingly
Dark
For
Lack
Of
Light
Endless.

Roses

Have you ever seen a rose?
Sitting quietly on a sunny day,
Minding its own business,
Tanning in the sun,
Not a care in the world,
Not a care for anyone

Have you ever seen a rose?
Dancing in the breeze,
Moving with the land,
The wind,
And the sea

Have you ever seen a rose?
Singing a song,
Painting a picture,
Or maybe humming along

Have you ever seen a rose?
That didn’t know about all of the hate,
And the war, and the debate
Have you ever seen a rose?
Alone on a bush,
Without any other roses,
To talk to on the brush

Maybe you haven’t seen these things,
Maybe you have,
But what is important to remember is
Even though they all have thorns

All roses are not the same
In fact they are all different
They all come in different shapes and sizes
Colors and smells

But what makes them all wonderful
Is that because they are different
That is what makes them beautiful.

Procrastination

Dark clouds looming,
Thunder booming,
in the distance,
Why did I do this?

Time elapsing,
Mountains collapsing,
Near but far,
I wonder where we are?

Could have been done,
Frequently sung,
A dumb thing again,
When will it end?

Getting better,
And getting worse,
Rainy is the weather,
I'll soon need a hearse.

Coffee

I've got the bladder of a pregnant squirrel,
Yet I consume coffee until my toes curl,
Why?
Heck if I know,
How?
With lots of shaking to show.

Opposites

There is not light without darkness,
No day without night,
No beauty without ugly,
Nothing to see without the sense of sight,

There is no happiness without hardship,
No bravery without fear,
No knowledge without envy,
No music without the ability to hear,

There is no love without hate,
No sun without clouds,
No warmth without cold,
No way to feel without emotions,

There is no success without failure,
No give without take,
No open without closed,
No real without fake,

For everything in this world,
That is beautiful and wonderful and great,
There is something that is full of terrible and awful, and hate,

But if you look,
You will find that everything,
Is never perfectly still,

For in this world,
We all live and strive,
To accomplish everything, we can,
In this thing we call life.

The Wind

Can you hear the wind?
Blowing through the trees
Looking for someone to listen to its pleas

Can you feel the wind?
Pushing you forward
To try new things
Things you normally wouldn’t do
had it not been for the wind

Can you see the wind?
Moving things that come in its path
Making trees look like they are dancing
Blowing leaves out of the path

But with the good wind
There is also the bad
It sweeps your lives away
With its vicious gusts

Something you can’t forget
Something you can’t hide
Is that you are fond of the wind
Until it hurts you where it counts
Until it hurts you on the inside

Sometimes if you talk to the wind
you won’t get a reply
It likes to hide from what it has done
What it has destroyed
