Peace

Peace

I search, I ponder, but to no avail,
I march to the tune, my vessel doth sail.

Up, down, all around, from hither to thither,
From warm to hot, from cold to shiver.

Vanity of vanities, all is vanity,
Full of labor, is there no sanity.

Some are crooked, some are straight,
Some are round, left to its own fate.

From riches to rags, from rags to riches,
From dull to wise, only others to clichés.

No profit, no profit, what am I to do?
From man’s store house of wisdom, I have no clue.

I yearned; I cried, there must be some peace,
A glitter of light, I laid out a fleece.

My plea dear God, show me the way,
Amity came close, God made my day!

Take Time

What is life, what is my cause
If not to rest and take my pause.

To turn my eyes from weary days
To escape this race of blinded haze.

ERE long the day we toil and strain
At setting sun what have we gain.

Take time to smell the flowers scent
See the petals: red, yellow, and purple tints.

Oh gracious life that takes the pause
To stop, stare, and ponder its cause.

Great the hand that spun this sight
Stop. Take time...Take thy delight!

The Thief

The Thief

Into His gates, what peace and rest,
into the world our life to test.

Into His courts we once did crave,
Praise and worship our hearts once gave.

There’s a thief on the loose, he’s after you,
His goal you see, to make you blue.

Your joy, your strength, he knows so well,
To steal, to kill, to make you fail.

Into God’s temple once again I go,
Sad faces, sad faces the thief did sow!

Oh what’s the world now to day?
All faces alike…what a sad day!

Wandering One

Oh wandering one, where are you going?
                               Where are you going?

How swift you move, so swift and sure.
                                    So swift – so sure.

To and fro, up and up, oh what finesse,
                                     Surely you’re the best.

Through clouds of deceit, you’re playing their game,
                                          ere closer to fame.

To him that hears, hear or never be the same,
Else life will web you maim.

There is a way, a way, a truth, a life,
At Calvary’s cross you’ll find that way…

Acknowledge Him Today!

My Christmas Tree

My Christmas Tree

Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree where is your home.

You stand so tall, such greenery delight.

Your poise is bold reaching upward always

Such silence of praise, you stand with might.

Yet friends have left you. both left and right

all alone you wonder, what is my blight.

One little flaw, I am not exactly right.

So here I stand, so alone and quiet.

No reason , no rhyme, just need some love,

At last, at last, a family sent from above.
