This World Around Me

Throughout life I've been used and abused,
like the others when I look around.
Wondering how we've become so confused,
why our screams make not a sound.

How the world keeps turning each day,
as death and war go on.
Thinking how can we go on this way,
tragedy breaking at each dawn.

Our country crashing down,
violence ruling society today.
The proof seen all around,
as we learn to live life this way.

Loved ones being sent away,
as war calls their name.
Many never see another day,
life without them not the same.

Kids carrying guns and getting high,
and dropping out of school.
I just can't understand why,
they think it's all so cool.

Society divided among the rich and poor,
and the color of our skin.
Why does it matter anymore,
why can't we all just win?

Constantly worrying on the judgement of our peers,
how we look in everyones eyes.
Labeled with indifference our greatest fear,
covering imperfection with lies.

Those subjected to cruelty of tease,
picked on and isolated each day.
They pull the trigger with such ease,
a suicide note with nothing to say.

Our government hiding what they don't want us to know,
reducing our freedom right in front of our eyes.
Their foolish mistakes begining to show,
our country being ruled by lies.

Jealousy and greed the base of our lives,
anger fueling the chaos furthermore.
Our sorrow crying in the blood on our knives,
destroying society to the core.

Horrific events seen on the news each day,
rape and murder taking place throughout the night.
Ignoring destruction, not knowing how to live any other way,
peace and simplicity so far out of sight.

I see destruction all around,
our world running out of good.
The falling of society not making a sound,
and that which does not understood.

Shunning God from our lives,
bringing Him in only for blame.
Solving problems with guns and knives,
doing what we can to hide our shame.

This poem is not done yet,
i just want opinions on how it is so far.
Thanks.

Just Don'T

Don’t judge me with just one glance,
Deciding I don’t deserve a chance.
Don’t assume I’m a biotch by the way I first act,
Thinking everything you’ve seen is fact.

Don’t stab my back and tell me lies,
Pretending tears aren’t filling my eyes.
Don’t get close letting me think you’re here to stay,
Filling me with pain as I watch you walk away.

Don’t underestimate anything I can do,
Cause really I’m much better than you.
Stop trying to point out what I do wrong,
Anything you say won’t matter for long.

Don’t read this and pretend you care,
because really I know you’re not there.
Forget trying to do what can’t be done,
Trying to win what can’t be won.

Don’t set your mind on winning my heart,
Cause you won’t have a chance from the start.
Quit thinking that I’m where you want me to be,
Really I’m farther away than you can see.

Don’t listen to the lies you hear about me each day,
Everyone just wants to ruin me in every way.
I hate you people who give me all this shnit,
You know what one day you’re guna regret it!

Crash

Headed to a friends driving way too fast,
Never knowing the fun wouldn’t last.
Slamming on the breaks quickly loosing control,
Panic and fear overtaking his soul.

Crunching metal and screams of fear,
Breaking glass, the sirens raging near.
A place of peace without a sound,
Now a hell turned upside down.

Overwhelmed with confusion and pain,
Fear circulating through every vein.
This wasn’t supposed to happen it was just a normal day,
One that went wrong in so many ways.

But now it’s too late the scene set in stone,
The shocking events widely known.
If he could he’d prevent each mistake,
Prevent the consequences that cost him so great.

But we can’t change the past what’s meant to be is done,
So we accept fate with an argument of none.

Depression

Bottled up feelings that drive us insane,
Yet we’ll do anything to hide our pain.
The fake smile to mask our fear,
Lying eyes that hold back each tear.

So much anger we try to control,
Try not to let take over our soul.
The problems we face each day and night,
Confused on how to make life right.

The coldness we allow to consume us from within,
Dedicating our hearts to the life of sin.
Cursing God wondering why he’s shunned us so,
Asking questions with answers no one can know.

All the frustration we try to make right,
Searching for answers so far out of sight.
All the drama from which we try to stay clear,
The troubling words we try not to hear.

We begin to break under the pressures of life,
And watch the blood run down the knife.
Seeing those who are happy and got life right,
While we quietly watch from the shadows, till the day we’ll step into the light.
