Pessimistic Optimism

Whilst the pessimist persists
to resist the positive...
The optimist insists
to dismiss the negative.

Just Imagine

Imagine being labeled unworthy for the land you were born upon.
Imagine being marginalized because your skin is of darker hue.
Imagine being excluded even though you did no wrong.
Just imagine it was you, just imagine it was true.

Imagine a class system that labels you inferior.
Imagine being classified irrelevant to cast a vote.
Imagine being educated to perform menial tasks of labour.
Just imagine the hurt, just imagine your voice unheard.

Now imagine a revolution driven only by peace.
Now imagine compensation without protest
Now imagine a generation returning to where they belong
Just imagine the privilege of a righteous inheritance.

Now imagine  the dignity that was lost now restored
Now imagine a healing and all illnesses cured
Now imagine redemption of land with a peaceful hand
Just imagine......

Call It What You Want, Its Still True

I want to live to become
The kind of person I needed when I was young.
Inspiring, affirming and solidifying solutions to the moral dilemmas
of the inflicted youth of this era.

Drugs,liquor and poverty, teenage pregnancies
HIV ,STDs, cimininal activity, inhospitality,inequality.
Obstacles to humanity
are the order of the day in society
Just check in on your family tree
It might have skipped a generation or 2 or even 3

The Season For Giving

Christmas time.... known as "the season for giving"
Now let me give you a piece of my mind:
Everyone talking about what they want for Christmas
Fancy toys, gadgetry, jewelry and what ever else can fit under the tree.
But let me tell you what I DON'T want for Christmas....
I don't want violence
I don't want war
I don't want famine
I don't want terrorism
I don't want oppression....
But this is all that some will be receiving for Christmas.
Tolerance to inequalty amongst each other has become humanity's
global phenomenon...the human race victimizing it's own kind.
Supposedly having superior cognitive processes.
But no cognition is given to the white elephant called inequality.
So let me bring you up to speed,
regardless of your wealth, race, age, gender or creed.
If you have a superiority complex based on any of the above,
take that useless complex and give it a shove,
then turn to your neighbour and give him some love.

Chosen : Ode To Unforgotten Soil

I was the lucky one
The apple of his eye
He chose me to walk with him
The memories will never die

Two brothers older, two sisters younger
And I the middle one
Although he is with me no more
I'm still my father's son

Woodstock,Athlone,Mitchell's Plain...
We toured mostly by foot and sometimes by train
Where ever we went he was known by his name
Wish I could re-live those days again

District six was always close to his heart
This was the place the walk would always start
As we walked he would stop and point and say
"That's where 'so and so' used to stay"

But dad why is it only an empty field today?
"My son,its because 'so and so' was forced to move away"
So I guess that's why we went around so many places
To see his friends and family...scattered familiar faces.

Festive

Well its summer and we all festive
And happy to be alive
This is the time to have the best of
A merry song and jive

Never see the bottom of you glass
As you sip your merry-ade
Delicacies are at the top of their class
For which you have not paid

This season comes but once a year
So enjoy each moment please
Cast away inhibitions and fear
But don't become a sleaze

Seasons greetings to one and all
Be it an office party or a fancy ball

Tell Me a Story

This is a little story about the picture you chose
This man loves his woman as pretty as a rose
As you can see by the stance of their pose
He is about to kiss the tippy tip of her nose

Is it actually raining or just artistic flair?
She holds on to his neck as he strokes her hair
This picture has no colour from my point of view
But when you on the other side true love provides the hue

Together they seem happy
Are they a matrimonial pair?
Or just a stolen moment
Enwrapped in true love's stare?

So if it's actually raining, then cover they must seek
Be it a five star hotel or a secret cabin by the creek.

Here In Capetown

there has to come a way
to make change today
here in cape town

bad things are going down
all around the town
here in capetown

violence on the streets
this city"s losing kids
yet everyone I meet
is still pleasant enough to greet
here in cape town

when the system stumbled
when the walls were crumbled
the faithful still stayed humbled
here in cape town

so what would cape town be
pictured without the sea ?
ape town.....could it be?

Campaign Within

Removing the mindset
of racial segregation
In this nation is in need.
Because we were freed.
But still there is greed.
Selfish indeed
Meaningless elections
Corruption accepted
And the amount of mellinin in your skin
Determines your ethnicity
Then ponder which is worse and which is better
The apartheid era
Or the post-apartheid error?

Three Wishes

One wish
Two wish
Three wish four

The first wish is to wish
and then wish
some more

The second wish
is to swish
and glide and soar

The third wish
is the last......
can I please have one more?
