Shelly Forshee Poem
My ultimate focus, the center of me
Breakfast, lunch and dinner with me on a platter
my heart being the main course, with friendship and trust for sides & the all you
can eat buffet for love
a calm, quiet inner peace in the pit of my soul
as peaceful as a late night walk on the beach
a visible demeanor, the mere sound of your voice,
an automatic smile that could be seen,
even when I wasn't smiling
feeling safe, untouched, a constant thought you were,
a drug addict high on loving you
with you being my supplier
doing whatever, whenever, just to get a fix
an unconditional love with only your happiness in mind
a boomerang of love, a continuous straight line of emotions that started with me
and ended with you
I ask you, is that not the ultimate love?

Shelly Forshee Poem
Like a contact lens on a very nearsighted cornea
smoothes out the rough edges of sight,
We see a magnifying glass with reflections
of the past, broken and shattered
The center of a city with images and visions
of innocent lives lost
with a completed 168-piece puzzle destroyed
a devastating reality spreads darkness to many
we remember the pain and suffering of a
city in chaos on a normal day that
turned out to be everything but normal.
