Daily Rations of Hay

Daily Rations Of Hay

With our fine country
only becoming,
more multi-racial and
culturally-diverse,
stagnation and division,
seem only to be
on the increase.
Supporting this more
than sad trend,
are the leaders,
sitting at the very top.
In spite of being
older myself, y nature,
and with women most
definitely on the rise,
I think one solution,
that could very well be,
is to take all the
old white guys,
in government,
put them out to pasture,
and most generously,
and not really racist
b
give them their,
daily rations of hay.

Crossing the Bed of Hot Rocks

Crossing The Bed Of Hot Rocks

Here I am at the
inevitable start line,
shaken to the very core,
on the scary threshold of
having to finally engage,
in weather or not,
I’ll be able to finally take
the necessary step,
for my eternal salvation.
Do I bravely,
throw cation to the wind,
knowing of the
high possibility,
of extreme pain ahead?
Having avoided what
might be called,
my ultimate destiny,
do I once again,
steer away in fear,
hoping my future might very
well magically change,
in great hopes of
extended avoidance,
or should I proceed
most bravely,
in my inevitable
journey of finally,
crossing the bed of hot rocks? R. Nichols
