-future Nuptials-

Your hand holding my hand

Your eyes locked into mine

Our lips slightly wet from our kisses

Your body singing my bodies song

Your heart beating in time with mine

Our minds thinking our same thought

Your mouth speaking my words

Your mine and I'll forever be yours

For Lorena & Carlos, 2008. May you have a happy long lasting marriage.

-headache-

In total darkness
my head is pounding
pain lurking in the back of my eye lids
body's weak

Stomach is nauseous
shivering as goose bumps race up and down my body
I toss and turn in bed
unable to relax

Taken four to six pills
cold wash cloth over my head
pillow pulled tight over my eyes
but, nothing seems to work

Ways to cure my pounding head
control my breathing, calmly in and out
clear my mind, slowly falling asleep
and vision sweet ecstasy with you in my head

-forgiving Me-

Woke up this morning with forgiveness in mind
Thought about all the hurt and pain I've went through
The tears that seemed endless
My heart broken in two
Looking in the mirror not seeing who I was
Thought about giving up never wanting to feel love again
No hope in sight

But out of the blue
The world seemed to turn in the right direction
Forgiveness was the only answer
I couldn't change my fate that was dealt
Ran out of lucky charms, used up all my wishes
Needed to feel something more than sorrow
Sliver of hope was shinning in my sight

Woke up this morning with forgiveness in mind
Felt no hurt and the pain subsided
My tears dried up
My heart is mended
I see who I am when I look into the mirror
I finally choose to and forgave a love that was blind
I've forgiven myself for my choices at your time.

-crush-

I've seen you from time to time
Hmmmm.....taken a second look, I'll admit
Whenever you enter the office the sight of you makes my heart skip a beat
In your shorts and work boots all dusty and sweaty
Have to take a deep sigh and put on a smile
Can't let you read what I'd like to do on my face
I watch how you react to me
Nervous all of a sudden, can't seem to stand still
You kill me when that gorgeous smile of yours appears
My words are tongue tied as I tell you "Goodnight."
Wonder what you think about when you turn to leave
Have to laugh at myself, I'm crushing over you hard
The phone rings and your room number is highlighted
You get tongue tied, I laugh and give you your message
"Goodnight $%^@!" won't say your name
This is my secret crush, only I know about
One of these days who knows, I'll drop you a hint.

-there Nor There-

Dreamt of you last night
tossing and turning
reaching out
but you were no longer there
Pulled my pillow tight
snuggled farther inside my covers
was so empty and cold
not having you there
I've tried and tried to put you someplace else
try and act like I don't care
the only rest I get without drowning in there
Once again caught in your dream
you appear with that smile that brings me to tears
can still feel you wrapped around me
just like you were there.

Scorching of Our Novel

Too many years since we said hello...
Let's face it, you've been a novel I can't quite put down...
I've tried, losing the pages...
Forgetting the binds...
Hell even tried to drown...
But many pages left with words unspoken...
Inkblots of tears turned into, "What do you see?"...
It hurt to see the pages burn...
Flames blowing hot and cold...
Found the beauty in the burning of my talented words...
Tightening of lungs as smoke filled my air...
The blackness of the ash dissolving inside my charred heart.

-happy Valentine's Day-

Since I've met you
We became friends
Someone I could turn to
One who I will always trust

But, I have a secret
I've been holding inside
Its on the tip of my tongue
I'm bursting to tell

I hope you haven't noticed
Or seen it in my eyes
My heart suffers in silence
I have to take this chance

For on this special day
Let me have the courage to say
I'm In Love With You
Happy Valentine's Day

-heart of a Nine Year Old-

This poem was written for my nine year old son, Adrian.
His first crush with an older girl.

From the heart of a nine year old, to Gina
My heart might be small, but it bleeds true
You are the light that shines upon a blue day
The heat I feel glistening my skin
Stars in my eyes when night has fallen
You are what I forever hold dear
My nine year old heart, to Gina
