Drive To Stay

A tangerine sky
A long drive
Drive far away
Drive windy roads
Roads lead nowhere
Roads lead somewhere
Somewhere further North
Somewhere in the Red Rocks
Rocks scattered about
Rocks worth the climb
Climb a mountain top
Climb to see a view
View through pale blue eyes
View through hazel eyes
Eyes weary
Eyes longing
Longing to connect
Longing to feel
Feel the warmth
Feel the sun
Sun in their eyes
Sun on their skin
Skin exposed
Skin dehydrated
Dehydrated lips
Dehydrated souls
Souls a little lost
Souls chasing dreams
Dreams collected
Dreams faded
Faded not to last
Faded into the past
Past becomes present
Past becomes future
Future is hopeful
Future is resilient
Resilient in nature
Resilient in love
Love your face
Love this place
Place your heart in my hands
Place my heart in your hands
Hands graze one another
Hands entwine together
Together we become
Together we stay
Stay near
Stay here
Here…
Near…

The Storm Within

An anxious mind
Aches for sleep
Upon a dream-like cloud
Lightning awaits
Rapid
Nonstop
Flashes in darkness
Determined to strike
A spark ignites
Shivers rise
Behind closed eyes
Rain awaits

Eyes

in my dreariest of moods
whose eyes will light up my day
when yours are gone

My Romantic Prose

Always cheesy
You can see the ooey-gooey cheddar
Dripping off the page
- My romantic prose

Caring

If to be cared for was an exit door
I’ve seen it open once or twice before
Affection and kindness hurried through
Never staying long enough to be true
