Sleep

This I do know
to sleep I would go
That's what I need
on my knees I plead.

A dream or two
I just can't do
My eyes all red
toss and turn in bed.

I read and write
stay up all night
My mind will race
about things I can't face.

All my worries creep out
they scream and shout
I would pay any price
just to sleep at night!

The Alarm Clock

Dreams so sweet, fantasy of the mind
Mattress of feathers, soft as clouds
Covered in the warmth and safety
The touch of a lovers arms

The alarm "Screams" it's annoying mouth
Like a blood sucking mosquito
With it's endless thirst
I call out his name with echoes

Softly at first and then painfully loud
Honey...buzz
Sweety...buzz
Scott...buzz
Scott...Buzz
SCOTT...BUZZ!!

There is finally a movement, slow as molasses
Now I disappear back into the sweetness
Of my fantasy...

One More Time

Years go rushing by like the currents of the sea
Trinkets of times forgotten,
abandoned by the receding waves.

No meaning or use to anyone who finds them
Just broken and crushed
from the brutal beatings.

To turn back in history and undo the future
A tomorrow of hope
worth the pain of rebirth.

Spewing forth with the wisdom of past lifes
Rising like the Phoenix
from the firey volcano.

To reclaim the chance of righting the wrongs
A new beginning
on the road to redemption!
