Amy Rowsell Poem
this is inspired by a picture of a guy looking at a piece of bread with one candle
on it, http://allpoetry.com/amyrowsell
today would be our first wedding anniversary
but I lost her, a month ago
a guy was driving drunk and crossed the line
that night he took the life of mine
you think that they would learn
driving is a privilege you have to earn
I hate him for what he has done
he took away a mother from me and our young son
nobody wins when people drive drunk

Amy Rowsell Poem
insired by a picture from allpoetry.com/amyrowsell
What burns inside her?
what is that girl’s fire?
something that maybe he is not providing
is there something she is hiding?
is there something dark inside her
maybe what she sees is a blur
maybe she was scared for life
maybe she didn’t want to be his wife
maybe this girl needs help
maybe she needs something for herself
what is this girl’s fire
what is burning inside her?

Amy Rowsell Poem
as a young child
you don’t understand
the cause of broken crayons
is from your hand
you push hard to make it dark
you have to learn over time
making a picture dark
doesn’t color any line
so your mommy tries to tape them
and that color just wont work
like it did at first
taping a crayon is not something new
my mommy taped my crayons
when I broke the color blue
I thought I would be smart
and I tried to use some glue
but that didn’t work either
before I know it, I had broken two
if you learn to color gently
your crayons will last
then taped crayons will be a thing of the past

Amy Rowsell Poem
See what a great world it could be
see what a great world it should be
see a plant, see a tree
see a bug see a bee
see an ocean, see a sea
See see See
see what a great world it would be
see what a great world it should be
see a lock, see a key
see a radio, see a CD
see an stream, see a sea
See see see

Amy Rowsell Poem
after a yr of waiting,
its finally here,
time for you to come home,
its been a long year,
loosing teeth,
second grade,
school time,
mommy first aid,
field trips too,
i cant wait,
to share these with you
everyone is growing up
some moving away
we think of you everyday
we want you to be here with fun times to share
hold you tight, show you we care,
its coming soon,
enjoy the time we spend together,
before we know it,
you'll be gone again,
fighting for our country,
will we ever win?
deployments are hard on families, they say
with your home-comming soon,
getting easier everyday
anticipation is a word i know to well
been waiting for this day a long while,
when you come home, we see that smile
we can't wait to see you again,
finally this waiting will end

Amy Rowsell Poem
the snow is nice and cool
when there is a lot I stay home from school
tubing with my brother,
getting yelled at for it by my mother
making snowmen with my nephew
if I stay out to long I turn blue
the snow glistens in the sun,
Oh isn't winter fun

Amy Rowsell Poem
I've only known you a short time
the news of your birth filled my heart
with joy and love
a baby is a gift
from heaven above
two hearts, a new soul,
a feeling only parents know
your mom she is a sister to me
we are a family
every night, sleep tight
every day, you will play
every meal, get your fill
Sleepless nights and endless lights
dirty diapers, bottles, and binkys too
Madison, I love you
come stay with me, let your mom have some peace,
you are my baby niece
We all have problems, and stuggles too
I will be here to help you through
I will teach you and watch you grow
and tell you things you need to know
Action figures, teddy bears, and Barbie dolls
little girls and shopping malls
as this chapter of your life ends,
now the Fairy Tale begins
Cinderella's glass slipper
and her Prince Charming,
Sleeping Beauty is awaken
by a kiss,
Princess Fionia takes loves true form,
Jasmine and Aladdin,
Arial and Prince Eric,
just to name a few
my favorite Princess is you
I want you to know
I'll help you grow
I'll be your friend, not a foe
watch out for paths you don't know
where trouble learks, Don't go
Have mom call me night or day
I don't want you to go astray

Amy Rowsell Poem
I have a Chi Wawa
not much bigger then a cat
Jimmy is his name
being vicious is his game
my son brought home a kitten one day
at first they didn't want to play
then Jimmy decided to change his way
they grew together as being our pets
and each other was the least of threats
when one is away the other one cries
like they will never have good-byes
they lick each other here and there
they smell each other everywhere
they protect each other too
i know that when they are huddled
deep asleep and cuddled
they are thinking of each other
images of little kitten pups dance in their heads
"Will I get my food?" is the least of their dreads
they fell in love
like it was destiny from above

Amy Rowsell Poem
you've taken my husband away,
I want him back
our soliders try to help your country
we want you to be like us "free"
your people are causing problems
because they want their lifestyle
the way of old
some of your people want to be controlled
other people want to be like us, you see
with few laws and otherwise "free"
your country continues violence
while our country morns in silence
taking away people close to us
your country is causing a lot of fuss
please let the problems go
let our soilders come home,
things will flow,
your country will grow
become a better place
if you let differences go

Amy Rowsell Poem
15-25 words photo promt of a picture in the desert
from http://allpoetry.com/amyrowsell
hot, dry, sunny, day
it is nature's way
lizards, cacti, and foxes too
pain, ongoing, never ending,
thirst, craving you
