The Mailman Came Today

The Postman did deliver,
More than mail,
He delivered happiness,
And love, without fail,

I smile in racy, lacy thought,
Perhaps more,
Than I properly ought,

But what the hell,
They say,
You live but once
And, while I'm not sure
that's true,
This life I dedicate,
Just to you.

Vegetable Love

Sweet peas,
Sweet corn,
Sweet the clue,
That does adorn,
The sweetest thing
I've ever seen,
Since I was born...

Like "Casablanca"
Embracing at an airport,
But not for "Goodbye"
But here to "court"

No way, but
A short while ago,
Would I ever,
Dare to believe,
This could ever be so...

Life carries some surprises,
Some are awful sweet,
Not every one,
Ends in some
horrible defeat...

I'll ask no more,
Of my God above,
Because he has returned
Your precious love.

Yum Yum Girl

Who said the sun rises in the East?
That's not true in the very least....
The Sun rises and sets in the West
Where does dwell the very best...
My Yum Yum girl
Sweeter than molasses
Shining and brightening my way
Oh, I do bless
The very day
I set my eyes on my Yum Yum Girl
My heart has ever since
Been aswirl...
For my Yum Yum Girl
Tasty love beyond belief
Oh, what a relief...
To recapture
My Yum Yum Girl
My Yum Yum Girl

A smile that beams
Golden hair that gleams
How I love the laugh
Of my Yum Yum Girl
My Yum Yum Girl
Oh, my, oh my,
My Yum Yum Girl.
My Yum Yum Girl.

These are written as song lyrics.
Next the music.

Salty Wine

The wine in my glass
Salted by my tears
The blood from my heart
Pumps a million fears...
And day upon day
Becomes year upon years...

All this time,
I had to know...
Where you were,
And does time flow...
As slow for you,
As it has for me?
And will there ever come
A day that we...

Will speak again,
Will share our love
In wonderment
Of the stars above

And now it has
Come to pass
I share this world again
With the lass
Who's beauty lies
Inside and out,
And from the rooftop,
I long to shout...

"Thank You God!
Thank You so!"
You have brought her back
And now I know...

The flame still burns,
Burns so bright...
It turns away
The black of night...

And so I say
Miracles do come to me
See the Golden Light
And the love that must be.

Love In the Air

Pictures on a shelf,
Cards with sweet thoughts received,
If I thought I was happy,
I was just self-deceived

Till this day has come,
And with it you,
The most beautiful woman,
That I ever knew.

Night To Remember

It was long ago,
In time and space,
Where the night of my life...
Did take place...

The woman I loved,
In tender rapture we,
Were entwined,
In my mind,
For eternity,

To all else the world,
I was blind,
Our bodies and souls,
With just one mind..

We fell asleep,
till late that night,
To me, the world
Was never so right...

I'll remember that night,
Till the day I die,
And maybe longer,
If God does comply,

Those sweet hours,
Far too few,
The ultimate ecstasy
I ever knew.

Explanation Long Overdue

I know it matters little,
At this time, I am sure,
But I've always felt,
I owed you,
A reason why,
We did not endure...

As I approach,
The final destination,
I've unfinished chores,
I must amend,
And I guess
It's up to each
Of us to tend...

It may sound insane,
In fact, I think it is...
I was feeling too much in love,
Something had to give...
All I'm sure of,
Is this, I do swear...
It was never a question...
Of if I did care...
All I'm sure of, that is,
Whoever followed me,
The luck was his...

I felt I was losing control,
Felt jealous and insecure,
Withdrew into a defensive caccoon,
But there's even more...

I knew I blew my chance
With the most beautiful girl
I ever had,
One who shared my love,
And to this day I'm sad...

I did what I'm good at,
I ran away and hid,
My life was forever changed,
The dumbest thing I ever did...

I know it sounds insane,
And I'm sure that this is true,
But one thing I can swear,
I never ever,
Stopped loving you.

Slippage

Sliding into a crater
of emotion,
Current stronger than
the Mighty Ocean,
Gravity of Love
Falling, falling...

What a wonderful
slippage is this,
If I lied I would be remiss,

I may not be so young,
Or so handsome anymore,
But my heart is still rich,
With love that does endure

I don't know what
Tomorrow's horoscope
does hold,
I don't know how the
future will unfold

It matters little
I've got what I want
A love which has
so long seemed to haunt

Slippage, I let it
slide away,
But this is
another day

We may never again kiss
We may never again caress
But one thing
I gladly confess

Just to know she still
does care,
Is more than a hope,
I ever did dare.

Gun In the Closet

Gun in the closet,
One in the drawer,
One under the pillow,
Does he need any more?

Scotch on the bar,
Jealousy on the mind
Can take you too far...
Your fate can be signed...

A loud bang,
A jolt,
A puff of smoke,
Gone is Beauty
In one sad stroke...

The Devil helped
Pull the trigger,
Why?
Cause he loves
To make Good People die...

There is no way
I could live with this...
I'll hunt him down
If the law is remiss...

I won't need,
a gun or a knife
For me to take
this bastard's life

He's made us pay
The ultimate price
For you, your life,
To him, just a wife...

To me he killed
Both Love and Hope
And when I find him
Should he grope
For his gun
He will find
My hand has shoved
His nose
Into his mind...

I'll break it first
for extra pain,
My vengeance will
Never be sated
For my prayer of hope
Is now in vain.
