Dear Southern Gals

Dear Southern Gals

Savannah - oh honey
You beautiful Belle
Your locks long and loose
And silver as well
Muted mementos
Of suffering of pain
Of tears you have wept
Long rivers of rain

Georgia - oh honey
You dear southern Belle
Your story is cruel
And shameful as well
Your tresses have witnessed
In somber green gray
The heartbreak the pain
The ship of that day

Oh Savannah oh Georgia
You dear Southern Belles
We hear you forever
Plead guilty as well
Now savour your beauty
The new dawn can’t wait
Start combing your hair
It’s time for a braid

Antigone

Ancient arenas
Dot valleys of green
Olive tree lined
Stoic serene

Gone is the echo
The sounds of the play
Done is the suffering
Of Antigone

Daughter of Gods
Caring and kind
Her brother’s keeper
Loyal to die

Ancient arenas
Magical myths
Beautiful backdrop
For the nymph I am with

Headstrong and honest
Gorgeous green eyed
Intriguing Igoné
Daughter divine

Keeper of many
Righteous and kind
Incredible Igoné
Daughter of mine

Nola

there is a street in new orleans
it as a certain name
girls in feathers men they drink
the whole lot down the drain

there is a drug in new orleans
the strongest one can get
heavy users everywhere
they call them spotted cats

there is a soul in new orleans
dragging every single step
partir c'est mourir un peu
don't want to die just yet
