Dreams of Dust

Boots tread weary on the dust of dreams,
In fields bloodied by battles gore.
Dreams of a glory to preserve and keep,
Our country's hope they fought for.

So many lives in years gone by,
Lost in combat because they believed.
For a country great, both strong and true,
Our victory was achieved.

With bleeding hearts and wounded souls,
Their shoulders were wide from their woe.
They won the battle, showed their might.
A debt we will always owe.

A promise built on sacrifice and deed,
Polished medals proud, they bore no dust.
Now as we choke upon the wind of change
What once shone now sadly turns to rust.

Our land of hope has lost its glory,
Near to bursting at the seams.
The madness that change has created
Deafens our country men’s screams.

Goodwill lays wounded at the wayside,
As our rights are slowly stripped away.
As we cling desperately to our identity
We need a light to shine the way.

Leader of Vision

Leader of transformation
Universal changes for peace
Healing people in coming together
Race and color blending in unity of spirit
Words of wisdom sent to the world
Communicating hope with iron fist of determination
Filling minds with good intentions of harmony and prosperity

Not an easy task to resolve for human rights and justice
Eight years of the same rhyme without any reason
General treason of the worst kind
Of worldly crimes with eyes closed
Hearts beating numb with discontentment
Hatred consuming nations without remorse or guilt
Mental and emotional exhaustion stuck in limbo state
Staying with the familiar of verbal hate

To live life in a new direction where everyone benefits
Á melting pot of hope living the American dream
Beyond our means of financial support
Lacking of funds from old politicans promises
Smoking guns shooting off blanks aimlessly
Without focus and direction of a positive plan
With a new destination is Obama's mission
A leader with a vision to learn and listen
Teaching without discrimination
