Douce Brise De La Mémoire (Sweet Breeze of Memory)

Sweet breeze of memory come blow the dust of time, thats settled in the conscience of a
sleeping mind,
awaken long lost dreams, that fell along the way, scattered are the ashes, of the life I
threw away,
send the wind of change, that my cobwebs be dispersed, remind me of the verse I learnt,
unbroken,unrehearsed.

"Douce brise de la mémoire déverrouiller cette porte verrouillé, que je mai retour à la
visite, je vais vous rappeler une fois de plus"

Sweet breeze of memory unlock this bolted door that I may return to visit, I'll Remember
him once more.

Sweet breeze of memory the hours quickly pass, if I am ever to revisit, then I need To go
back fast, my body is so weary, I am feeling very old, and secrets that I hid Away need
now to be told!

Premium Member Blackberry Pickin' Time

A memory from Hoosier boyhood days that yet lingers,
Is blackberry pickin' time and the stain it left upon my fingers!
Stained fingers on both hands would a country boy betray,
That he had been on another blackberry pickin' foray!

Brambles grew wild on the farm and along the road.
Bushes bent low with luscious beauties to behold!
'Twas a pleasant chore for a barefoot lad with tanned cheeks,
Roamin' the fields and dawdlin' to wade in nearby creeks!

I'd toss four berries in my mouth to one in the pail.
Ma's stern admonition about that was to no avail.
Some were as big as a thumb, just so as to compare,
And I mean as big as Pa's thumb, I honestly do declare!

The pickin' done, Ma would shoo us kids out of the way,
Then, waftin' from the kitchen was a most pleasant bouquet,
As she scurried about preparin' preserves, jams and jellies,
And bakin' cobblers and pies to fill our youthful bellies!

Ma filled mason jars with jam, jelly, peach and pear,
And stored them in the cellar for our winter's fare.
'Tis handy to buy jellies and such at the store today, I reckon,
But the memory of summer berry pickin' to me will ever beckon!

Premium Member Ben & Bess

Ben,our springer,brown & white
Was our teen-daughter's delight;
Bred by the famous Shand-Kydd
Causing us to part with fifty quid.

He soon grew,chewing lino & chairs
Forever racing up our stairs;
We'd no idea what he would become
This stress-filled harum-scarum.

A sporting dog,much too inbred
So to the vet,our footsteps led;
A day so filled with tears,
Engraved upon all our yesteryears.

Soon, we were given Bess
Collie-cross,black & white,no less;
Perfect in temperament,ready to please
Walking her,my mind at ease.

Each night to her bean bag she crept
In the kitchen , cosy,she slept;
Welcomed all with wagging tail
Without faults,she could not fail.

A pet no one would ever trade
Her memory now in cross-stitch made;
Loyalty of the lasting,loving kind
No replacement,were we to find.
