War Shall Never Ask To Die

War is this prism of hell
You remove the gray and the gold
The soldier that learn how to kill
You remind us of the sublime and the surreal
War is the smell of maggots and flies
Flesh and blood in front of your eyes
This battle mirrors between power and greed
War painted faces and scorched battlefields
War, you steady beat your drum
This shadow of peace and fear
War shall never ask to die
War increase your doubts and fears
Imagine a world without the ancient sun
War is that poison, we all drink from this well
Lay down your weapons and bring peace inside
War shall survive or war shall never ask to die

HOLLOW MAN

from silence spoke the hollow sound
of rushing tears, the back of my sleeve

  damp

waving goodbye to the darkness one more
time, my mind screaming for it to just stop

a room filled with India rubber bouncing balls
ricocheting madly from when I was a young

  boy

pledging allegiance, then gaily marching against
the war, chanting peace now! peace now!
as fistfights broke out in my head

the cooling murmur of a spring creek,
deep in the forest, where no one could find me

counting the flashing trout, unaware of life before
the blue star, now a welcome sight to everyone

  who agrees

                    ......everyone

                                     who agrees
