Ace Cannons' Canon

ACE CANNONS' CANON

Through the morning, shimmering with colors that wavering, fade
from a desert where heat is a hue, and history's due
cactus and trees, knotted and sparse, a portrait some mad god must'f bade
into being, into the "Otherwise Sane"; set apart from the world, lived in by you

dust lays 'pon the ground, puffs upwards with resentful complaint
as my mount plods onwards towards some tumbled town
Town?
a few homes, in a land where grown men could grow faint
weary, thirsty, sweat-soaked; riding, walking, falling, down

down...
town

Ace Cannon's my name, should anyone ask
you may have heard, or you may not
at times that's quite a task
as i'm found wherever battles are fought

and those who stay behind
are often quite dead
they thought, or they didn't, or dint really mind
that those men who pushed, cursed, threatened with lead

disrespected ladies, dint tip their hat, just hawked and spat
raped, robbed or rustled, or horsethieved from towns
and thought to back down the good folks with that
more often than not, were buried with smiles,
 'stead o' frowns

i'm a gunslinger, in the olde sense of the word
a hard man, a good man, a gunman, driftin' along
light as a feather, fast as a bird
i enjoy playing, Guns' melodious song

"abandon all hope, all ye who hear,
with nary a sound to accompany fear.
the blackbirds are singing, as i draw near;
the tumbleweeds roll, as leather i'll clear"

a few townsfolk stroll from home to store
a few, even this early, stagger from saloons to squint
as at last, i ride past houses, where happy people live poor
knowing each other, when last year they dint

a traveler, through beauty and badland
worthy of trust, friend of strangers in need
dangerous at times, yet loyal to brand
the code of the west, that noblest breed

a stranger, hatbrim pulled low, all dust and sweat
a horse noble as Knighthood, and muscled in trailwornest tan
this was "the West", that hadn't quite yet
met the Man

I Will See You In the Pasture

The only true Immortality is the having of children
They are the only ones we can live through forever
A form of immortality is to live on in others memory
Though some are remembered for terrible acts
I would always wish to be remembered as a good person
We all choose paths through what we have learned in our lives
Each person learns many different things in life
In this way we are all equal to one another
It is a myth that you cannot teach an old dog new trick
We will learn something new everyday if we listen
You will always learn more by listening than speaking
Unless you are asking about something you want to understand more
All things that are written may be only one persons perception of life
How we perceive what is written may not be the intention of the writer
The only way into a writers mind is to reach into his sentences
If not for the people alive today what would our reality be now
If able we all might want to change one thing or more in our past
True love is not really a myth again it is how you choose to perceive
People will learn more about you by your actions than your speaking
Speaking sometimes can only cement all your actions to words
By our learning to listen we will in this way be able to teach
I am not a good writer its just that I am jotting down my words
To be happy and healthy is all I am worried about
If I do not see you in the future I’ll see you in the pasture
Be healthy be wise and have fun in your life
Remember you cannot take wealth with you when done

It's a New Day

Yesterday is now gone/
The past is where it belongs/
Back in the past !
It's a brand new day/
Oft' I feel as though I'm lying out on a raft ?
At first I'm near the coast/ Just relaxing !
Yet when the devil brings up your past,
You should remind him of his fatal future !
Still a bit sleepy/
Out listening to sounds of people very near,
The next thing I knew I began to doze/
I'm all alone a mile out in the ocean,
Such as the case is in life/

At first/
Sin looks very appealing !
The humble look then next the enticement !
Next thing you know your hooked,
Along with their two best friends !
Being line and sinker,
Just look in the museum;
Of that sculpture of the thinker !
Time may heal all wounds,
But still hidden scars still remain,

Not having you in my arms is driving me insane !

New Englend may be crowded,
Yet it still is naked spiritually/
With folks having long fangs for teeth,
Many will hide in their tiny little hole/
Not to be exposed by the light,
At times you may feel you had failed ?
Some even had encountered a humble defeat/
Yet try to be happy in God,
Thank the Lord that you still have shoes on your feet !
Still we only get one chance at life/
Amidst the inner turmoil, envy and strife/
Forget about looking back for a brand new wife,
Be totally content in what you have/
It's a new day so all be glad !

Just to be yourself is totally rad !

To Be a Ghost

what would it be like to be a ghost
to float around and no body know,s
to hang around and wait on you
to give you the scares when you go to loo,

no one can see me in the day
as this is when a sleep away
waiting till night to fall
so i can come out the wall,

floating around from room to room
shaking chains and shouting boo,
to have a laugh and see your face
when you see a ghost scaring all over the place,

floating around and on the roof
wanting you to know that ghost are true,
scaring you half to death
making you put
a pillow over your head,

wonder if people can really see
if i was a ghost a wonder if i can pee,
am all white and a shadow to
you never know
when a will haunt you,

just to sit and have a laugh
even scare you when your in the bath,
to float around and not use stairs,
in the dark with no fears,

wish a was a ghost so i could see
every move you make but you cant see me,
to wait till you are going to sleep
the give you a fright and not smile at me,
to scare you half to death,
to make you hide under your bed,

i am a ghost thats pure and white,
am not the kind that really gives you a frieght,
you may all may know my name
i am casper, the friendly ghost
and still the same,,

Thinking Fast

Having arguments or disagreements with the ones you love most brings you much closer than
you already are,
Lifes so confusing you dont know what to do ,
Following what your mind says or what your heart says,
Deep down both are special coming from me,
Being asked to somethink is a certified hesetation,
In return no matter how hurt or down they are never will they do the same in the manor you
treated them,
Things get said because this is the real world,
Things get said and jumbled up into the way things wat to be heard,
Never do take any notice the fact is knowing right from wrong,
Being able to stand and hold ground may mean alot or maybe nothink but for all i care and
matters is its not worth it,
I may just be something plain nothing worthy but me being so makes me a better person,

Trapped In My Own Recession

Trapped in my own recession
I transfer from my aggression
To get out of this oppression
I may need another session
One day I shall get possession
And even get out of this suppression
You may fix me with recompression
I can see from your expression
You can see I am in transgression
I may need to use some compression
And will treat it like an abscession
Or something from my profession
If I am caught up in my depression
And I might go into some regression
You know I will display no digression
But I do need to make a confession
For that I’ll need decompression
Now can we see progression
You cannot buy from a concession
You can call it my obsession
I can see you in my procession
Though I may need to take repossession
I will do it all in succession

Memories

How many times do you
think
thinking about things
that cannot be put to
ink
precious memories that
cant be forgotten
because it takes a life
time to be gotten
Experiences and realities
that happened in
the past
Actually you dont
remember the last
Hidden in the virgin part
of the mind
which makes it hard to
find
but Sometimes they may
be triggered when
you look at a friend
who may be there
following a trend
or it just stays hidden in
the dark
where no man lurks
in a vault which cant be
opened or hacked
because memories much
precious than
diamonds are kept in
them
these memories can
never be taken away
because they are kept to
stay
Till you die and forgotten
altogether.....

My Crown

Stephanie,
I'm on my knees.
I know you can hear my words,
I speak not with signs,
But with the words of my mouth,
All from my heart.
I was meant to be a king,
I found too many crown,
Oversized crown they were.
Though you met many princes,
You did not suit their head.
Even if you're made of lead,
With you I can have wealth.
He that owns a crown has the power to wear it.
You're my crown;
No matter where I go,
My people will see you,
They'll recognise you,
I'll always be with you.
You may fail to admit that my head suits u,
But without your notice,
I tested.
You suit my head.
You may be made of lead,
But you are my crown.
You stephanie-for your sake,I am now an Emperor

Thoughts Leave Impressions

Distressed in the mind
Lost in the notion
Leaving me blind
From all the commotion

How to sort out
These thoughts in my brain
What’s this about
A runaway train

To many thoughts
Built up so I’m full
Running to spots
Like some big angry bull

With my every idea
Its hard to stay sane
Like the stripes of a zebra
They are never the same

Thoughts leave impressions
To deep to ignore
Some are recessions
You may have to explore

Some ideas are golden
And some are just nuts
Some you may have to pardon
From the mind of a putz

Each notion has rules
That we need not ignore
Even you fools
Of this I implore

Can ideas fly high
Or be trapped in a den
My thoughts say goodbye
Though I’ll see you again

Do You Have Dreams That Have Come True

Do you have dreams that have come true

Written By Dean Masciarelli

September 21, 2010 (9:09pm)

Do you have dreams
that have come true

To be honest with
you
I know that I do

And some may say that it is deja vu

And I am sure at one time or another
right out
of the blue that it has happened to you

When something comes to you
that
only lasts for a minute or two

When you remember a dream that
you may have had a long time ago

That may light a clearer path for you
to view
one day when it finally does come true
