Where would I be without you?
Would I really be on the path that I am now?
Or would my path be a different one
Would I have a straight head on me?
Because it’s easy to fall short where I’m from
Never ever stopped me from doing wrong
Just let I and my conscience know
That it was wrong and I shouldn’t do it
And I think that’s what made me grow
Watching and following how you
Would tell me to take annotative and think
How you accept me like a brother
And wouldn’t dare to let me sink
At the same time you were there for me
No matter if it was right or was wrong
And always stayed by my side
While having my back all along
Every time I called you answered
And you, I would literally give an arm and a leg
And for it all not to change
To you I would plead and I would beg
But change is inevitable
Its one of life’s many laws
But I pray that it doesn’t change
And for that I pray to God
Though we fight and get critical on a daily
And at times we can be hurtful
Know that only you can get to me
Because you’re already in my circle
But I refuse to let anyone else
Get to you in any uncomfortable way
And I really mean that with my heart
And not just with these words that I say
And with these words that I speak I would like to say I LOVE YOU
To my friends those who help me stay on the righteous path that my parents put me on and I love them for that and also thank and appreciate them for what I have learned from them
BREAD CAART, RICE CAART, BUBBLE GUM CAART
WORDS OF CONFUSION, WRONG INTERPRETATION
COMMUNICATION FROM FOUNDATION, FROM WE AFRICAN LAND
COMBINATION OF MORE THAN ONE NATION
CREATED THE CONNECTION FOR OUR SOCIALIZATION
AND IT WRONG, BUT IS YOUR INTREPRETATION
BUBBLEGUM CAART BREAD CAART, RICE CAART
INDEPENDENCE, STATES THE POWER TO CONTROL ITS OWN DOMESTIC AND
EXTERNAL AFFIRES.
AND SOME OF US STILL FACING “PARPARISATION”
BUT WHAT ABOUT WE SLANGS?
WELL I DON’T NEED ANY INDEPENDENT FOR THIS ONE.
RICE CAART, BUBBLE GUM CAART BREAD CAART
NEAR AND FAR, FOREIGNERS AND LOCAL,
GLEANERS, OBSERVERS AND STARS
WHEN THE WORDS FLOW THE MIND GLOWS, FROM FLAT TONGUES, ROUND
TONGUES, LONG TONGUES, SHORT TONGUES, EVEN NARROW TONGUES
FROM CHINESE, JAPANESE, ASIANS, AMERICANS, ITALIANS, ANY NATION
IT IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT FROM A JAMAICAN
THIS IS OUR SLANG!
WE HAVE TO SMILE EVERY TIME THEY TRY TO PRONOUNCE THE SLANG
NUH, TRUE MAN AND WOMAN?
BREAD CAART, RICE CAART, BUBBLE GUM CAART
BECAREFUL WITH THE PRONUNCIATION CHART
WRONG INTERPRETATION CAUSES CONFUSION
THE PASTE THE TONE THE ARTICULATION
AND THE BREATHING GIVES A DIFFERENT MEANING
STICK TO THE ROOTS, WORDS OF COMMUNICATION
CREATING THE CONNECTION FOR OUR SOCIALIZATION
AND IT WRONG, BUT IS YOUR WRONG INTERPRETATION
INTERPRETATION CAUSING THE CONFUSION

(I actually wrote this poem a year ago, but because of some recent events, it still applies)
I thought we were cool.
I thought we were friends.
But those words you said,
Stabbed me in the back of my head.
I didnt see it coming.
I couldnt believe my eyes.
What you did, really took me by surprise.
I thought you understood me.
You defended me from that jerk.
But all along, you were just like them.
Waiting for your chance to inflict hurt.
You will never realize, how hurtful your words were to me.
You will never understand, how confused you made me
You were one of few friends i had to my name.
But maybe i was too expectant, to believe, that you were not the same.
In the end.
I lost a friend.
I must have never meant much to you.
For you to say what you said.
You talked down to me.
As if i was a dog.
You treated me like i was stupid
And had no mind of my own.
I will never understand your hostility.
Friendless, i truly am.
Trusting, i no longer should be.
Anger and resentment reside in me.
but it wont consume me.
I will eventually move on.
You will be nothing but a faint memory.
Forgotten you soon shall be.
I dont need friends.
To make me happy.
THREE LITTLE WORDS
THREE LITTLE WORDS I SEND TO YOU
AND I SEND IT FROM MY HEART,
THREE LITTLE WORDS THAT TOUCH THE SOUL
AND NEVER WILL IT DEPART.
THREE LITTLE WORDS THAT HAS MUCH POWER
AND NO ONE CAN TEAR IT DOWN,
BECAUSE IT WAS CREATED BY THE MASTER
AND ITS WHAT MAKES THE WORLD GO ROUND.
WITHOUT THE THREE LITTLE WORDS IN LIFE
THREES NO WHERE SEEDS COULD BE SOWN,
TO REAP A HARVEST FULL OF LOVE
EVER SINCE THE WORLD BEEN KNOWN
THREE LITTLE WORDS THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE
IN EVERYTHING THAT IS TRUE
THREE LITTLE WORDS FROM INSIDE MY HEART
TO SAY THAT (I LOVE YOU)

Form:
his words come trough with such fierce emotion
a strong brother with pride and devotion
he writes from his heart and when he starts
he continues till the ink runs dry
sticking to his beliefs and holding his heritage close
he injects us with another dose of reality
we tend to stray a bit too far away from the truth
then comes along this man who reminds us of our roots
although we never met in our words we built a bond
remaining true to ourselves and spreading the word
that many are scared to hear
he comes through throwing punches of lifes little secrets
reminding us that in our minds we must keep it
his poetry is devine and makes us feel in different ways
showing us that the world today is still like it was back in the days
i wish i could say more about my new friend but this is hardly the end
a new dawn will arise and pens and paper are in his hand
he's ready to take us on new journeys in his mothers land

I have a friend in poetry name Christy,
The poems she writes make your eyes go misty.
She is gentle and kind, and knows what to say,
Her poems help me get through another rough day.
She writes long poems and short poems and never strays,
Im sure she checks her comments to see what you have to say.
She writes about war she writes about peace,
She writes about children dieing in the streets.
I dont know her personally but i know of her poems,
I read them all the time ,and im sure she is well known.
I hope i can write like her one day,
So all can see what i have to say.
For now ill just try and do my best,
To write like Christy without taking a rest.
I dont know how she dose it day after day,
I seem to run out of words to say.
What ever you do Christy , dont stop writing,
The words in your poems, keeps us fighting,
To find ways to end all this trouble and pain,
So children can walk the streets , without fear of being slayen.
HONEST FRIENDS
(Shakespearean Sonnet)
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . .
Yes, some there are whose words ring bright and true -
A lover, brother, children, even foe;
But honest friends are rare and precious too -
Their words can clear the darkness with their glow:
Who clap, then warn you that you’re over-proud,
And always tell you when you’re in the wrong -
Your smile is nice but, lord, your laugh’s too loud -
Who whisper clear in midst of madding throng.
The wisdom-word of friends is always worth
The seeking far beyond all seeming-gold
That glisters in the shadows of this earth
Where all is asked but nothing can be told.
Bright mirrors are the friends who speak the truth,
Outshining gaudy riches, fame, or youth.

An Unlimited Friend
Authored by Chuck Keys
She walks on words in flight
tainted with her beauty beyond delight
a destroyer she is not, a poet she is rare
friend and critic a pair always there.
Her words flow with love and flair
of life beyond repair, there to dare,
endless breadth encased in the heat of passion
of life and intensity beyond apprehension.
Her heart moves with so much of all she inhales
never filled always room for more for those in need.
To be her friend is soft and reciprocal
Never having to look, but always present and ready.
To swim in her arms of care, angelic and pure at heart
we talk with words that are silent, feelings unspoken,
not in our arms but together in thought,
sensed and deep, tender and mutual, inside us both without words,
a friend unlimited how lucky am I, sidney lee ann, Godbless to you.
I almost thought she was the one that made
Neil Diamond sings like a confetti parade
You know that sweet Carolyn thing, why not
She has the warmest soul, this sweet griot
This investigator of mysteries, and writer
Of myth and pale anthropological history
This lady, this encourager, this fresh sister
That brings a solace to each swift anxiety
This humanitarian, this dreamer, this friend
I say nothing when I read her poems again
Lest words reduce her to something defined
For words only say correctly that she is kind
And she drives the land from post to post
Bringing care and playing nurse and host
To every prayer balming pain, to each need
That plays her like winds play a reed
And make her sing her gentleness, sweet
And succulent songs, darling of gentleness
God, how your love in human form bleat
With ravishing light, and milky tenderness.
Introducing our own Dr Ram
Though he be not from Thailand Siam
Creation made him then broke the mold
Dr Ram’s words are better than gold
The man Ram’s contests quite a pleasure
Poems provides own little treasure
Gent of class from India I’m told
Dr Ram’s words are better than gold
Willingly a heart ask how and when
Listen to his advice then you win
Never has he caused one heart to fold
Dr Ram’s words are better than gold
He’s contented with his earthy lot
Settled back in his favorite spot
Affluent in talent and he’s bold
Dr Ram’s words are better than gold
He says all my dues have all been paid
At peace I’ll watch my own sunset fade
Seventy plus, why break a good mold
Dr Ram’s words are better than gold
