The Atheist

God is pure of heart,
or so I have been told.

I am not pure of heart,
this also I've been told.

So if I am to be with him again someday
I need to be purified;
scrubbed vigorously clean
of all sin and temptation,
because God is not tempted
and so I should not be either...

But it doesn't end there...

In order to be truly purified
I must seek an answer to my crisis of faith,
the way, the truth, the life,
that comes only from without
and never from within...

It could be in a book
as there are many books on this subject
that I have yet to read...

It could come from a teacher
as there are many who would teach me
should I choose to learn their unique interpretation
of what faith is
and what it's not...

It could be an expensive piece of cloth embellished in gold,
shining brilliantly and drawing worldwide admiration
because surely God speaks to men of expensive taste
so maybe I should too...

It could come from a group of people
Speaking loudly and angrily
asking questions that they alone have the answers to.
The walkers of the straight and narrow
who listen to their own kind and no one else...

Or perhaps a philosophy
As those are a dime a dozen
and everyone around me subscribes to one
so maybe I should too...

These are my only options,
or so I have been told...

These are the ways, the truths, the lives,
that will get me to my destination...

I only wish I was told sooner.

The Hype of 2012

With all the hype on 2012
Are we heading towards our hell
The calendars predict, a drastic change
They coincide, now aint that strange

Should we believe that this is the end
With signs all around, that we can’t mend
Or do we believe in something good
A loving God and brotherhood

So many theories on the .NET
Bring confusion, toil and sweat
Which one do you believe
That’s for you and your reprieve

Could it be, the coming age
Where man excels and turns the page
Or will it be that we shall fall
And God saves us, one and all

Will it be cause and effect
Where we pay our karmic debt
Can we rise above it all
Becoming strong and spiritual

Some believe will meet the dead
Here on earth, that’s what I read
Our loved ones pass the golden gate
To talk with us, and to relate

I heard, a planet will collide
With us from the outer side
Or could it be, a huge black hole
That tosses the earth to and thro

Some say, will be hit with meteorites
Causing people to lute and fight
And what about the financial status
Economy breakdown in the papers

Floods, pollution, famine and war
Global warming, terrorists and more
There could be a catastrophic event
Sending shock waves, to our sense

We could be invaded by UFO’s
From outer space, alien foes
What happens now, be on your guard
Cause December 2012 at large

With all these signs and revelations
Will it break, our civilisations
All our books seem to agree
The end is near! But we shall see!
