In the wicked world brutal
Only few fine friends local
Will lend their finger social
To help us regain imperial.
Among them Jashwant jewel
Standing with me in time real.
Earlier we had quarrels brutal
On tuitions or money total;
Later adjusted, but his accrual
Of knowledge I can’t level.
In money I was ahead a little
Later he covered the recital.
Principal is the post special
Bestowed on him in quintal;
Nature changed to royal:
Lately better not so trivial.
In time of our dispersal
He cried, seemed an ideal,
But past memories at coral
Haunted his friendship approval.
He was helped at all level,
Let it be Geeta or be Jwal.
Still he is my friend fraternal;
His importance is vital.
Right from accident’s tidal
To his departure actual
We sat or carried a trial.
Now no problem in appraisal
All grunges now look artificial;
Seeking his friendship amoral.
May God grace him all alluvial
And empower qualities glottal.
her mind drifted over the alluvial landscape
covered a few sink holes and seeped quick sand
from a life built on dense sediment and erosion
she had never asked for much but now she was firm
not so quickly please she pleaded for more time
deposits have to settle and sludgy silt needs to graft
a plastic spade and a battered bucket searched
patiently battling restlessness and discomfort
of whose home is what castle covered in sand
this challenge is so vast and my tools are so small
my roots are grip-less muddy and abandoned
she noticed and gave up on fighting the tides
huddled with eyes on a rock pool in which a
starfish rested on algae and crusted display
spread eagled she halted a while and gave way
now motionless she let be and inhaled deeply
while a wave of the ocean broke over her spine
resurrected firm resolve in view of gloomy farewell
yet despite crushing abrasions she started to float
was washed up at the other end of the beach
in a cave with pebbles and brazen drift wood
with consciousness bathed and cleansed to the core
she wiped salt from sad eyes and sorrow from her lips
kissed the nautical Prince who had been there all along

Earth runs by mural
Grows on soil alluvial
Is more communal
And less commercial.
But all work illegal,
Love for such is official
All equal tasks disloyal.
But at Money’s arrival
They treat us special;
Bliss and bless us total
We are never trivial
Comes position initial.
Money is more disloyal
Will leave you at trial.
If one is in life’s trial
Success of Money final.
If you want to be ideal;
No value only Money vital.
Agree or not Money is real
As with it we are acquittal.
Don’t be completely asocial
No practice of immoral,
It leads to God’s dismissal;
As we are never trivial
Comes position initial.
River
flowing in curves.
Waves dance and propagate
in rhythmic pattern of ripples.
Cadence of flow to change from ebb to tide.
Alluvial deposits on
soaked soil of either bank.
zig - zag flow of
River.
Mellifluous chirps and tweets woke me up.
Heavy sloth still but got out from my suite.
Dew pearls rested on glowing petals, yup!
The tips of wet pasture chuckling my feet.
Soft alluvial soil making a squish
And scent of blooms took me into a trance.
Little plants nodding heads as if to wish.
Rapt spirits turned me a poet by chance.

MUD LARKING
Since a kid having a habit of treasure hunt,
whenever got a chance to go on riverside
picking pebbles slimed with pale mud,
scavenging for precious something submerged in alluvial deposit
of holy majestic River Ganges flowing beside my hometown.
During my childhood I accompanied my Grand Mom off and on
when she went to bathe in the river.
Once Grand Mom took me to watch a mini flood.
The tide became violent whelming, perplexing me.
My heart was swollen observing aqua opulence thrashing on bank.
Long staircase of the bathing spot leading to river on gradual immersion.
Strong tide lasted for forty minutes or so.
High rise of water level diminished leaving the usual clay and sludge.
I rejoiced starting my venture of search.
Got startled to find a golden locket
though later it turned a trinket,
yet it was preserved as gem in my vault, a toffee-box.
Next year on vacation, went to Great Grand Mom’s place
Close by flowing a slender stream running giggling with little brittle ripples
I collected two stones: one regular octagonal shaped
sparkling shining glistening.
In frolic mood I showed that to all,
where Mom’s Cousin brother was present
He insisted Mom to give him the stone.
Mom took it away and gifted to her cousin.
An innocent helpless child was cheated.
Second one opaque irregular prismoid with a sharp pointed tip.
It could cut glass perfect precise, a typical property of diamond.
I preserved it for many years but later lost.
As per my medical declaration, remnants of my bone and ash
to be put on River Ganges to blend with clay.
May be on rebirth, me as child to go for mud larking
on edges of River Ganges.

UNISON WITH OCEAN
From mountain glacier melts, slides, glides, slips:
Spring springs up waking from dormant dream,
falls free frolic hitting stones, tumbling pebbles
cascading in opulence.
Slim stream flows, goes, giggling gaily.
Little brittle ripples dancing up and down in rapture
Slender narrow stream turns wide broad river
choosing zigzag spiral path on plane land
propagating waves on aqua dynamism.
Vivacious river attains vigor in fervor.
Showers of blessing as wealth of alluvial deposits.
Flora-fauna, habitats flourishing in diversity
on fertile riverbanks.
River flows ceaseless forever, turns back never,
unidirectional way to Sea.
River reaches its final goal losing identity,
aiming unison with vast boundless ocean.

First Place
'Strand Completely New (13) Contest by Brian Strand
Shades of grey cascades on rainy days
Petrichor reigns after each pitter patter
Radiance of earthy fragrance does flatter
Teardrops down panes.. splitter splatter
Fades to whiffs chiding riffs spit scatter
Forever about weather they do natter
Seems the one thing that does matter
Flowers cowers at showers which batter
Tiffs as petal in fine fettle does shatter
Down trodden by a sodden mad hatter
Raised bed fed on shed drops clatter
Spoils for alluvial soils a pluvial platter
Some veg in tatters others seem fatter
Folks chitter chatter.. prefer the latter
Cumulus nimbus nimbly flitter & flutter
Sunrays grasp after a last gasp stutter
Sliding gliding riding wooden shutter
Rasp of uncouth din off a roof of tin
Staccato rinse & repeat beat does utter
Burgling drains & gurgling in the gutter
Huddles of puddles cuddle and splutter
Parched Earth’s skin softens like butter
Mother Nature's own homegrown nutter
Folks groan have to clear up soaked clutter
Mumble prone to moan but not a tut tutter
Mustn't grumble need the tumble they mutter
thoughts lick at my consciousness
distracting me from the warm embrace
of the colour pallet unfolding
I stare with myopic eyes at the kaleidoscope
endeavouring to discern the demarcation
of the edge of each shade
naming them as though they are listed on a colour chart
displayed at the local hardware store
but as soon as I have one splash of tint pinned down
it fades to be replaced by a more pleasing explosion of colour
a child’s toy impatiently twirled
a rainbow snipped into a multitude of shapes
in never to be repeated patterns
like an uxorious husband
it enfolds the evening sky in its loving embrace
its fleece soft fingers exploring
lulled into a unison of consent
with a barely perceptible rush of contentment
a slight sibilant sigh issues
memorialising daylight
clinging to the fringes of observation
the scene depicts its titular character
of moral decay
the riparian area jealously guards its supremacy
as hydrophilic plants are robbed of their splendour
in a final display of defiance
alluvial fans buffet against the offing
recombobulating
the natural order of Chaos:
The Great Deep of ancient mythology
From the rigid stubborn mountain
through chasms oozing free fountain.
Frolic fall broke in brook again,
shake pebbles, make way in stream.
River flows fulfilling dream.
Little brittle ripples to dance
River runs, waves propagate, prance,
soak soil of banks and enhance
deposit alluvial !
Vegetation survival.
Ripples roll in rhythmic patterns
Ebb and Tide to come up by turn.
In zig -zag line , river to run..
Up-down going water flow.
from ebb to tide , high or low.
Rivers stir water fast or slow,
ruffling shuffling the speed of flow
Boatman free to float boat and row,
whirls water on stroke of oar,
waves to hit and thrash on shore.
River always rushing restless
vibrant, dynamic and ceaseless.
Aqua flow runs in opulence.
River flows for forever-
Next, what is its behaviour ?
'whatever? then and then?
what to happen?’
'It mixes with ocean
on unison.’
