Machinery

Feel like I'm walking on bones that make up me
and I'm treated as though I'm machinery.
Machinery that needs little to no upkeep
and it's not until I stop running that you notice me.

You say what's wrong with this damn thing?
Why won't it work?
So I push on when there's nothing in it for me
and my whole body hurts.

My pleas can only be seen and not heard
long, long ago I've forgotten my worth.
Yet
I never quit
pretty good for a piece of...

I'm not missed til my battery dies
and I'm too tired even to lie.
I want to cuss the whole world up and down
but I don't.
I want to leave this life and this little town
but I won't.

I want my pain to be seen and felt
the way I've felt for everyone else
my whole life,
so feel mine.

I see and feel and taste your pain so
feel mine, feel mine.
Please, please try.

But you just push my 'on' button and work me til I die.

I see and feel and taste your pain
so feel mine, feel mine.
I said
please please...
try.

Lost In Transaction

If only they can see what my eyes see

The pain of loosing all and never becoming free

Every year is different with pain that never stops.

Why can't they see what my eyes can really see

Everyday i see them but i don't think they see me

For i am reaching out but always left incompletely

My knees are swollen for praying that never stops

Why can't they see what my eyes can truly see

With a grin on my face and a kind voice to plea

Graceful lines but lost in a high tides sea

I'm alone now with pain that never stops

Why can't they see what my eyes revealed to me...

Moving Forward

Moving Forward

Discouragement comes knocking hard
Certainly does throw one off guard
An uninvited guest indeed
This here pain I truly don’t need

Thoughts are racing all through the head
Keeps me writing thread after thread
Holding back the tears one more time
A new mountain I must now climb

Step by step I will walk each mile
Doing my best to always smile
A new journey I must embark
Must keep moving no time to park

I must keep my eyes on the prize
The pain is deep but I will rise
On eagle’s wings I will take flight
I have a new view now in sight
