Hungry Soul

Into the restless violent light
A hungry soul to trespass the night
Flash bang fire in streetlight glare
The walking carcass of torrential despair.
~
Deep sunk eyes in mangled cure
This heartbeat pumps the blood of pure
Evilness that relies on pain
The hungry soul in restless gain.
~
Fortunate paths on the Jesus cross
Where stop lights dim and love is a loss
Anger floats in stripping gauge
A couple gives life to price the wage.
~
To then the night draws in the mind
Needless souls devouring time
Led astray to fell the night
Separated, less gripping tight.
~
A puncture glistens this now stained knife
As the dying husband sheds tear for his wife
This hungry soul plunders his sin
As the evil encompasses the skin.
~
Night falls dawn to horizon fare
The evil withdraws within the lair
Til moon arrives in blood tint glow
To feed another hungry soul.

Pastoral Hymn

Pastoral Hymn

Formerly, one knew on sight the ones
who walked with economic purpose.
One had criteria: the color
of their robes, the meter
of their stroll, the semaphore of their
cosmetic blare.
One knew that night for them was dawn,
that night lit bright their signal.
Today, my pastor claims,
one must inquire of them all.
