Best Seaheart Poems
The pier was old, many stories untold,
its wood was weathered and gray and
eerily silent and stark, it stood deserted
in the dark. I put the car in park and
felt the sea-wind whip my hair as I strode,
feeling the rush of water under my toes,
footfalls drowned by waves crashing below,
braced against the wind at the end of the pier,
each memory so dear, the end so near,
the ocean's swells were huge and I felt
a stab of fear...
The ocean seemed infinite and I---
insignificant---as I waited for the magic
(in a life so tragic) that I knew would come:
the daily rise of the glorious sun, so strong,
filling my heart with song, the beauty of dawn.
The dark sky turned powder blue,
all the colors began to shift their hues,
my God, what a wondrous view,
the sea turning to quicksilver and steel,
the colors of the sky surreal---
I see the dolphins at play wondering
when I lost my way as they head out
to deeper waters, still waters, they say,
run deep, what we sow, we reap, the
memories we keep---
The beauty of the scene remains unspoken
as I leave the pier, heart broken.

Blue is the color of your eyes,
every time i look my heart dies,
neither lost nor found
my heart has drowned,
in your deep ocean blue.
Ebb and flow
and the waves roll,
I wouldn't be surprised
if those deep, dark blue eyes,
would once again, swallow me whole,
in her deep ocean blue.
Yet another mystery lies,
in the shadow of the seraph's eye,
for what is not seen cannot be told,
every word you speak shall shatter the soul,
and if not for the two-sided eye,
would we have this hungry tide,
and with dark comes light,
the waves crash at night,
in that deep ocean blue.
A beautiful beast that awakens and falls fast,
none is present here, future or past;
Not even Orpheus could tame the beast that lives behind a mask,
suspended in the mind, she will swallow you whole,
as whole becomes hole,
the waves take their toll,
not even you could stop
my deep ocean blue.
She sat on the beach and held his heart cupped in her hands
young, red, vibrant, and beating with a desire for her..
he bade the doves send it to her across the water
as from the ship's railing he learned over the sea
and her name fell from his lips and was carried
...across the trembling waves, and she embraced the winds
that carried her name..
Far out to sea the dark hand appeared
and grasped the small ship
which tipped on the swells
...and billowed the sails
while back on the shore
the sleeping heart of her lover
fluttered and raced
as the north wind took charge
while he clung to the mast
which was ripped from its hold
and flung out to sea
but she held his heart close
as it thumped near her chest
and she called out his name
to the uncaring sea
who turned a deaf ear
to the maiden's laments
and the heart in her arms
took its last breath as
a crimson sun fell from the sky..
