Best Peoplewoman Poems
The scars are reflected upon the wrinkled skin
Carried down through the anguish of history
But Beauty shines through their forgiving smiles
We are a nation history has spoken to
Yet We rejoice and feel free in the "townships"
But still scared of being inferior in the "suburbs"
Why so are we mentally still in jail.
"I am free" proclaims our young minds
Yet we are captive to drugs and crime
Being a South African means breathing hope
I am scared for my neighbour
Even from my neighbour
A gun has been called a visitor
In my home shared with my kin
For protection against our own people.
I am young with hopes
I am a young with dreams
Yet I am scared of living in my homeland
The beauty of my birth place escapes my mind
When a young man kills
When a man commits murder
When a woman is raped
When a woman is beaten
I convey the future of South Africa
My beautiful and blessed country
Dear God help my country
For a prayer indeed is what is needed
We may not perish
We may not disappoint those slain for freedom
We may not lay down
We will rise
We will conquer
Because we are South Africans
Because I am a South African
Let every woman go bold
let every woman find her stronghold
with doors of knowledge therein
Every woman enter to reign
For womanhood is pure gold
Let us then support them women
For if we disobey it is bad omen
That relegate into beings less
That are cursed never to bless
Nor utter good amen
Speak freedom woman speak!
For womankind is no more weak
Walk your way into the kingdom
Where all law is wisdom
As you climb upwards to the peak

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) - Police have arrested a woman they say robbed a South Bend
restaurant while tearfully apologizing to the cashier. The woman, whose identity wasn't
released, was taken to the St. Joseph County Jail on a charge of theft Tuesday night.
According to a police report, the woman told the cashier at the Long John Silver's restaurant
she had a gun and needed money, then began crying and said, "If I wasn't down and out, I
wouldn't be doing this."
As the woman waited at the counter, a customer in the drive-through line called police. The
woman was running across a nearby parking lot as police arrived and arrested her. Police
said no weapon was found.
It seems that the times have changed
In effect, it changed me and you
As needs are ever greater
Cash and cents are few
The burden of the masses, remains
To provide for family’s needs
And much because corporations
Have bigwigs who like greed
The jobs are ever scarcer
As we all seek a new wage
But now it’s too competitive
Within this day and age
So, we’re left to just survive
And do so in any way
I do so hope these times pass
But yet, it’s not today
We need to treat our woman like precious gold, but we as men have a problem to beat them
cuz our hearts are cold!
We should cherish every day, but we as men never know what we have till it's taken away.
We play with their hearts, like it's a game, but when they return the favor we are never
the same!
We say we love you and that's not lie, but we always do things to make you cry.
What part of love could do such a thing, I guess it's not true love now that's just a shame.
We say that we will always's try to treat you right, but we're so quick to find the next
best thing in our site.
We say that you are the love of our life, but we cheat and lie now that just ain't right.
We try to put the all bad things in the back of the mind, but you when get feed up we have
lost so much time.
We try not to let our emotions show, but it's so hard, when we have to let the ones we
love, go!
I guess we'll never know what a woman worth, until the day comes and she is finally placed
under the dirt!
