"Fragments and crumbs of life, all the little pieces"
John Ruskin, 1853
I knew in the beginning
What I wanted in life
Where my writing might take me
Where I might end up
Only plans change direction
Paths change course, unwanted
When passion burns bright
It can set your heart free
Life's greatest triumphs and tragedies
Remain alive in our memories
Forever etched among my pages
Statements impacting others
To more than just survive
Wipe clean the subconscious slate
Prepare to be inspired by life's events
And the importance of all the little pieces
"I believed that life began when you believed in yourself"
Won 4th place

When it comes to a turning point, everything's based on a turn of events. When things
don't go as planned, then there's nothing he or she can do to change this situation.
Everybody knows that the turning point will have changed the lives of every individual.
Knowing that these emotions are running high because of those unexpected change of events,
I guess that's why. These turn of events, like the ending of these so-called "affairs,"
people losing their jobs, homes, and/or that kind of stuff can be quite frustrating. Some
of them are bad but some of them are, like, somewhat sighs of relief. Or so i thought. But
despite a lot of turn of events (life-changing events), I guess almost everything will
have worked out alright. Now that everyone's moved on with their lives, the future awaits
them. And when there's a real turning point, there's always a bunch of life-changing moments.
Words are much more powerful
Than anybody knows
What if life was based upon
Just the words we chose
Could we put an end to war
Or maybe save a life
Comfort all the heartache
Or end the pain and strife
Could we take away the sorrow
And replace it with a smile
Could we change a person's mind
Who's maybe in denial
Could we put an end to conflict
Before it starts a fight
Or take away the worry
And make things be alright
Could we talk to all the lonely
So they'll never be alone
Or pick someone from off the street
And help them find a home
Words can change most anything
And no one can refuse
Always choose them wisely
So take the time to choose
There seem to be a shift… this night
This moment to embrace a change
A night far too dark to simply hide
For myself I know… I remain
If I am to feel… I felt less
And I can see… yet I am blind
Time as always is new… never rest
For moments to be… if I can find
A little chill returns to stay
When anew is change and change is anew
With time dissolving without delay
Be there moments… if even a chosen few
Choices made to deserve its consequence
Contentment to bring acceptance belongs the key
As often will result not land to one’s reason
With this change… can I be free?
This night…a shift there seem
And I embrace the moment I change
When no longer need I hide even in dreams
For the world I know… had remain
