Waves

I watch waves flow from here to distant shore
And wonder if they journey by design.
What freedom are they given to explore
As they break loose from sands where I'm confined?

When winds whip seas and walls of water climb
To reach the heights where gulls and egrets soar,
Are Earth and Heaven's borders redefined?
I watch the waves flow from here to distant shore.

I listen to the ocean's thunderous roar
And hear its rumblings echo through my mind.
As dreams escape from out of my guarded core,
I wonder if they journey by design.

My life stands eager to be redefined
As searching questions from my spirit pour.
As thoughts once bound are starting to unwind
What freedom are they given to explore?

As waters churn above the ocean's floor
And nothing stays where it was first assigned,
My longings stray from where they once were moored
As they break loose from sands where I'm confined.

Rootless Freedom

Reflection of a past is lingering in mind
Illegal was religion and Gods were not so kind

So THEY demolished faith, put Churches upside down
and built a monster palace for a self-elected clown

As I kneel softly, slowly, on rootless Nature's beauty
To quench my thirst for Freedom hindsight's my heart's duty

To pray for souls of parents as they rest on roots of love
I clean my face with water, drink Freedom like a dove...
