Best Native Americanprayer Poems
I went with them into the woods
There's no return without the goods
So many times we stayed all night
To return empty handed was just not right
I couldn't have been no more than eight
When told to keep that arrow straight
Pull it back till the bow near breaks
Through the heart and claim your stake
No matter how impressive the stag
Respect their spirit and never brag
To only kill enough to eat
Never more than what you need
Do not look upon their dying eyes
As their spirit soars and begins to fly
Say a prayer to the Great Spirits That Be
For taking that life and to forgive thee
