Whether or not
Whether or not we live our lives
Or we gather the passing of years,
Whether we crack the windows beam
Warmed by the summer rain
Whether our feelings are held inside
When we reconsider our fleeting years,
As we travel along these roads of truth
Or the ones we know of fate
Hold on now to our minds intent
For often it is paved in gold,
Whether we walk this silent earth
Or be lost in the stillness of our soul
Express the worth of our own design
Before love and faith are past,
Whether we hold our image secure
Still warmed by the summer rain

Summer Time
I love the bright and sunny sky,
And the occasional cloud passing by.
I enjoy the breeze through my hair,
And the birds singing in my ear.
I love the smell of fresh cut grass,
And iced tea in a frosted tall glass.
I enjoy a nap out on the swing,
And the laugher that children bring.
I love the shade of the trees,
And the color of the leaves.
I enjoy the sweat on the nose,
And the warm sand between my toes.
I love to watch the flowers grow,
And the butterflies with their graceful flow.
I enjoy the scent of a shower near,
And smiles that spread from ear to ear.
I love a BBQ out on the deck,
And the gorging until I feel like heck.
I enjoy sharing with one and all,
And neighbors coming at a beck and call.
I love winter and I love spring,
And the newness that each one brings.
I enjoy the colors of the fall,
But summer is my favorite of them all.
If only my thoughts could filter the summer breeze
to places that many could see
then I could start the words for the wind to carry away
maybe for someone to catch one day
If only my actions could travel like the leaves have been blown
to places to many left unknown
the mystery would reveal the true meaning of life
If only one could remember the first kiss of sunshine on the face
then maybe you would want the summer to stay
I have lived for a thousand summers.
I have drinked in so many sunsets my heart has melted over my bones.
my toes deep in the warm sand
or
my feet in the cold pond water.
I have fell in love with summer so many times i have started to believe i am summer.
All those hush sounds i love so much, all those vibrant smells i drowned in.
And the colors, they drip from my eyes in brilliant bright burst.
Oh this summer fever i dare not sweat out, oh these summer kisses i dare not wash out.
Its such a shame that its only three month.
The summer is here full of joy and cheer
We all live here in the U.S.A
We can party because were free
And take Lee to see the bee
Bee’s are bumbling and buzzing
In the summer sun
We all have fun
It was one of the warmer summer days
Not a breeze or cloud in the sky
The humidity so high
I could almost reach out
And pluck it from the air
I watched the sunlight
Hitting the north side of my house
Seeking shelter then slowly roll away
Towards whatever little shade remained
With the speed of Grandma’s Black Molasses
A few miles east of the old country trail
The river’s waters had fallen
Lower than I had seen in years
Even the riverbanks had dried
Into a crumbling hard brown clay
That yearned for the rains to come
The heat, so oppressive and unyielding
Muted the voices of the birds
While all the wild animals
That usually ran about the fields
Sought out some relief or at the very least
Waited until night fell
Before coming out to play
These were the quiet days
The silent times of life
It was the summer of waiting
A time that I could no longer dance
Or sing, or see you under the starry sky
This was the summer you had gone
And I had grown much, much too old
To wait for another winter to come
