I Need the Strength

I need the strength
To walk out the door,
I don’t want to
Love him anymore.

He stole my heart
And drank away my love,
I was so wrong to think
He was a blessing from above.

Where will the road go
Without him by my side,
At night it’s my dreams
Where I run and hide.

How can I ever
Get pass this pain,
The thunder gets louder
With every drop of rain.

I remember the moments
When he held me tight,
He kissed away my fears
In the dark of the night.

Love is a raging river
That continuously flows,
But it turns to ice
When the cold wind blows.

What will the tomorrows
Bring my way,
Why did my rainbow
Suddenly turn gray.

I need the strength
To walk out the door,
I don’t want to
Love him anymore.

I gave him the heart
Of my soul,
But the magic of love
Never reached its goal.
