Harbor of Life

Though I sail this wretched sea of life
I do not sail alone
A higher force keeps guiding me
To lead me safely home

Though my sails are torn and battered
I travel on my quest
This sea of life keeps tossing me
But still, I do my best

While drifting through this endless sea
I keep looking for the light
My journey has almost ended now
To a land with no more night

While tired and weary, I carry on
I dare not turn away
I can almost see the lighthouse
I can not go astray

Lead me home, dear light I pray
This ship can sail no more
I cast anchor in the harbor of life
Upon that golden shore

Rip the surface of my soul free
Calm writhing waves of discontent
Fill the listless heart with psyche
Divine art, lend hand to intent
Let brawn and brain arise in man
Oh Lord, let fair cities bloom
beneath the sea and sand
give all beauteous room.

Sacrifice the sword for honor.
show truth has a beauty its own.
Let right be taught by mothers
in embryonic sea light’s born.
Magnify the mystery formed
with purest intend adorn
for all of nature is
encompassed in Your form.

Let your Consciousness encompass
and polish the coarser form bright
for though the sole scale must swing
a less dramatic sweep seems right.
Bring us closer to bliss, blessing
each tiny bit of star dust light
for universe’s dwell
in Your abundant might.

The Peek Chap. 2

As we moved through the gate, many people I did see,
Talking, laughing, here and there, but none of them saw me.
I began to be concerned, until I felt a squeeze,
Suddenly I understood and felt again at ease.
Without words he let me know, about my special case,
God allowed me a visit, to look around the place.
This will be my home, when my time on earth is done,
But this is just a peek, for my race is not yet run.

So, I stored this away, in the back of my mind,
Eager now to see, this Home that God designed.
First to catch my eye, the color of the street,
It was purest gold, but smooth like honey sweet.
The gold was like a glass, near transparent through,
Reflecting all above it, and with a golden hue.
In my mind I wondered, how many roads were here,
Instantly within my head, I saw a map appear.

As we traveled up the road, and then atop a rise,
I was not prepared for the sight that met my eyes.
Never have I dreamed, and I'm sure I'll never forget,
Water so clean and pure, through it's furthest depth.
Spreading south and farther west, as far as I could see
Was Heaven's own sweet ocean, called the Crystal Sea.
Now I was floating in the air, with someone holding on,
But I felt weak of knee, and my breath was nearly gone.

As I gazed upon this sight, my eye was drawn in deep,
Such peace I felt well up inside, I couldn't help but weep.
The explanation came to me, of this Sea wide and broad,
To it flows both day and night the very essence of God.
Ahead we'll find the only River that fills this Sea that's known,
The River of Life Eternal that flows from God's own Throne.
I watched the waves lap the shore and felt a rhythm strong,
The unending tide of Love and Hope that fills Creation's Song.

No Destination

With my heart in my hand I hit the road
Not all that wiser yet another year old
I don’t always believe all that I’m told
No destination as the journey unfolds.

The sky is so blue and it melts into the sea
The rhythm of the waves sound like music to me
They crash on the rocks and then retreat
The constant battle between where the land and sea meet.

I take off my shoes and feel the warmth of the sand
I drift off to thoughts of a far away land
The people are talking but I can’t understand
A sea gull walks over to the place where I stand.

So much beauty I can’t take it all in
I follow my tracks to see where to begin
I think that it is time to either sink or swim
So I take off my shirt and just jump in.

The water is cold yet I feel so alive
I submerge myself through a wave I dive
I come back up on the other side
The waves provide a pretty good ride.

I get out of the water the sun warms my soul
Often I feel like I swim in a fish bowl
Going in circles but never getting anywhere
I am just try to reach here from there.

The sun goes down and then disappears
I seem to have lost all of my fears
I turn to leave and the ocean seems to wave
It seems like my spirit is what it shall save.
