Precious Time

Precious Time.

This truly is a precious time that we all seem to share,
Being with friends and family that we all love and care.
Our homes filled with decorations of color and of green,
Such a beautiful time – the meaning so serene.

The baby Jesus born upon this day,
He brings us joy, hope and happiness all along our way.
This season seems to be so busy, running here and there.
We need to remember why, and to all we should share.

We feel a gift must be bought, and given and exchange,
But we have been blessed by the best of all- by His precious name.
It seems the world has forgotten the meaning of this time,
How Jesus was born, and died for your sins and mine.

So keep Christmas in your heart all year long,
Keep the meaning alive to those you meet – keep it very strong.
Share a little love, send a warming smile, and say a prayer or two,
Don’t forget the gift He gave – all for me and you.

It truly was a Holy Night when our Lord was born,
Let the trumpets sound – and blow the mighty horn.
Joy to the world, and good tidings bring,
Merry Christmas, and Happy Birthday to our Lord and King.

Soldier Father

One last present
A mother and a daughter
Christmas day
A soldier for a father

She loves him
She loved him
She wishes he was there
But she understands
He's off marching somewhere

But this day was a day
That would darken her days
Her mothers gift turned her skys grey

She pulled it from a drawer
From daddy read the tag
A triangle box
That held a folded flag

Make a special prayer this Christmas day
For all of our soldiers who are home or away
